Should I let the doctor makes a circumcision to my baby boy?

    Greetings!

Before all, I'm sorry for my english.

You will find rare that a youg man participates in the “motherhood” section but the reason is that I am going to be father and I need some advice.

My baby will born on December, he's going to be a boy, and the doctor of my girlfriend has begun to insist with practicing the circumcision to him.

This doctor recommended us a children's doctor who say that if we do not make a circumcision, our baby will suffer urinary diseases, problems and probably sterility in the future.

I believe that all this sounds too much scary for any parents, but I feel that his insistence does not have much real foundation, since neither my father, my grandfathers, and so on, were under circumcision, NEVER.

BUT My mother told me that when I was a baby, doctor said her the same about circumcision that my girlfriend's doctor said, and my parents do a circumcision to me.

I always thought that it was a practice only for Jews, and I really DON'T want to do it , but I need to know if it will bring problems to my baby.

Some of you have boys of course, may you tell me something about this? some advice?

    Thank you very much.

Re: Should I let the doctor makes a circumcision to my baby boy?

I thought they only pushed circumcision in the US. It was so commonplaced between WWII & the 1980's that many parents were never consulted. Practically every boy of my generation born in a hospital in America was circumsised. As recently as 10 years ago my nephew was circumsised without permission at 2 days of age during a routine examination at the hospital by the pediatrician & his parents had decided not to have him circumcised. There is really no medical reason for it. My sons are not circumsised and they have no medical problems. Tell the doctor to keep his hands off your son's penis. I understand that the doctors who perform circumsions sell the foreskins which are used to treat bedsores & diabetic ulcers & other skin ailments. Perhaps this is why the doctor wants to circumsise your son. BTW the doctor pushing for the circumcision is'nt Jewish by any chance? I do'nt know if this is true or not but I heard many years ago that the real reason for the widespread circumsion of American male infants was so that Jewish boys would not stand out in lockerooms. A very large percentage of American doctors are Jewish & they dominate the AMA ( American Medical Association).

    many men would be surprised
    to discover they had suffered
    so many health problems.

    the doctor is lying!

    you are correct.
    his insistence has no foundation.

    the experience of your ancestors
    contradicts the doctor.

    there is no reason
    to mutilate your son.

if your son bathes, every day,
    what could go wrong?

    how did humans survive
    for all the millenia,
    before circumcision?

    did they all suffer
    from urinary diseases
    and sterility?

my son has never been to a doctor.
if he had broken a bone
    or suffered a deep wound,
    we would have gone, but,
    intentionally mutilate him?
    never!

Thanks for the answers and the web, I'm going to read and get all the information...

here is the same!! jews are dominating medical areas, but the doctor who tell us about circumcision wasn't. Whatever, I never heard about that reason but I always suspected it...!

Tell the doctor to keep his hands off your son's penis.
I will, of course, thank you to all of you

No way man. Nature is intelligent, and if she decided we should have a prepuce, there must be a reason.

BTW, I'm not circumcised and my penis is healthy and works perfectly.

Unless there is a good reason for circumcision, leave your child's penis as Nature intended. The foreskin is rich in nerve-endings which contribute a lot to a man's sensual pleasure during sex. It may console circumcised men if they believe that lessened sensory input allows them to make love for longer before climaxing, but (speaking personally) I am glad that I am uncut.

Circumcised guys hate condoms cause they have lost so much sensitivity. Uncircumcised guys have no problem with condoms. They don't force their girlfriends to take those horrible, dangerous chemical crap (pills). Do not mutilate your son!

Americans are so brainwashed that it's 'healthy' and 'hygienic' No one is circumcised in in Europe and they are doing just fine. Urinary diseases aren't higher than the States either. Hygiene is a problem for the people who live in the desert withno running water, not for modern civlization.

Besides if it affected fertility, there wouldn't be billions of Indians, Chinese and other Asians.

I believe I even read somewhere that the experience of military doctors in the US Army who served in North Africa in WWII was of some influence in promoting the spread of genital mutilation in America after the war.

So the only thing in its favour is that it allows your government to more effectively send your son to die in battle for someone else's oil on some godforsaken sand dune somewhere.

I've heard such arguments before, but so far nobody could convince me of their validity.

If it would be beneficial for the health and survival of a male individual, Nature herself would have 'circumcised' us all (genetically). The fact that the 'little extra' stood the test of evolution is proof enough that it must have some (yet unknown?) purpose. - Or is there any human race where the men have no foreskin?

And if you look at it from a cultural perspective, circumcision is something genuinely semitic, based on the patriarchal cultures of the Middle East where the father shows his dominance over the son by symbolically castrating him; because that's what circumcision is all about: symbolic castration.

In an analogous way, millions have been mentally castrated through the concept of 'spiritual' circumcision propagated by Christianity (Romans 2:25-29) with God Father Himself as the 'Panto-Castrator'.

If you want to do any of this to your son - go ahead!

You CAN suffer from a condition where the foreskin is too tight, and around puberty a part of it might have to be cut off. However, it's ridiculous to do a medical operation like this on a young child, for something that affects very very few boys during their teens, and IF it affects him then, a really simple procedure will solve that, then, when and if he has the problem.

In Sweden they actually, at age 11 or so, check all guys balls & foreskin, to make sure the balls have dropped down from the stomach (!) and that the foreskin is not too tight. A quite better way than to circumcise all boys I would say.
