It appears that the male line is predominantly Scandinavian and the female line is predominantly British Isles

    From wiki
Recent DNA analyses have revealed that Y chromosomes, tracing male descent, are 87% Scandinavian. The studies show that mitochondrial DNA, tracing female descent, is 84% Scottish / Irish.

I think that Iceland is closer to about 65% Germanic 33% Keltic and maybe 2% Sámi or other if I were to put a percentage on it. The Norse influence is more predominant there than the Keltic in my opinion.

I am guessing the Faroes are close to the more Germanic side as well.

First of all it depends upon what you mean as 'Germanic'? If meant in an ethnic sense then clearly genuine English, German, Netherlandic and Scandinavian peoples thus qualify. Linguistics is an entirely separate issue. I would also add that DNA studies make it very clear that the English are no less 'Germanic' ethnically than the Germans. Indeed DNA companies struggle to identify differences between the two (I know this from personal experience).
