    Question Question about Slavs

Can any of Skadis more knowledgable members tell me why Slavs, no matter what type ( Nordid, Baltid etc. ) are so distinguishable from other Europeans?

Personally I feel this is especially true for western and eastern Slavs. That said, I can usually tell the difference between a Pole and Russian, which is not something I can say for French,German or English people.

Both genetic and anthropology point general stronger Mediteranean influences in Western Europe (also in Germany). Of course it relates to Northern Europe.

I actually have the opposite problem, I could tell a German, Frenchman or Englishman apart much easier. In my case though, I expect it's because I am more familiar with them.

Very good work norda, this really does help out a lot. I don't know if you'll agree with me or not, but can some of the differences between the way Poles and Russians look, be caused by higher levels of Asiatic admixture in Russians?

BTW, the Warsaw girl looks exactly (kropka w kropke) like a Polish girl I used to date.

Regions on east of traditional Slavic settlements (Belarus/W. Russia, W. Ukraine) is later slavicized territory, where in East and North dominate Finnish Nordic/Paleoasiatic cross and in South and SE Mediterranean(Pontic)/ Paleoasiatic admixtures are stronger. Paleoasiatic is not really Mongolic (Central Asian race) admixture and is related with old N Asiatic Ainu race.

Norda, these charts are VERY interesting, thanks for taking the time and doing them. I just copied the charts and placed a photo of mine on each to check how they fit with each. I usually get the "you look very Slavic" classification from day-to-day meetings with people and I was wondering how do I fit in within the median. I made the overlaying photos of mine transparent so that the background is still visible. I think these outlines can work very well by placing different people's faces on them, like I did with mine.

I don’t believe there is much distinction. Please show me what you mean with pictures.

So basically you are saying that the original Russians weren’t Slavic, they were either Central Asians or Saami Half Breeds? What about Corded sub-type ? Didn’t it originate in the steppes of Southern Russia.

Please relax, just a question .And please don't mis-quote me. Maybe it is by the way you act, I don't know, hence the question.
