    Hello, Gewitterwolke!

This fascinating word denotes a thundercloud in German, the native language of my ancestors. I think it describes my looks and personality perfectly. I am spontaneous, tall, have a deep voice and I am quite assertive, some may say aggressive, but in a good way. Much like a thunderstorm. Adding to my overall charm is my bright red hair, reminiscent a distant thundercloud illuminated by the setting sun.

Okay, I'm only joking. I'm not that impressive. I do have red hair and am quite spontaneous and fun though.

As for my avatar? I don't have one because none of the choices piqued my interest.
I can follow your ideas about Thor and his attributives but wanting to choose a masculine name you should always be aware that the German language is one with three different genders.

"Wolke" as well as "Gewitterwolke" are of female gender "die Wolke". Besides, "Gewitterwolke" is a German symbolism for "a menace" (German:"die Bedrohung") or "imminent threat" (German:"die unmittelbare Androhung") which both too are of female gender as many menacing meanings in the German language like "torture" (German: "die Folter").

"Thunderstorm" (das Gewitter) on the contrary is of neutral gender.

It is a pity that the English language does not have direct gender-predication.

Best regards from the land of your ancestors,

My username is an accidental misspelling of ablative as in the ablative case in linguistics. After I noticed I misspelled it I decided it was too banal of a name to be worth changing anyway.

My username is an abreveation of my Grandfather's name, perhaps the person whom I most looked up to when I was a teen. He told me of his life and how his family migrated from Germany before the war, he taught me a lot of things and the memory of him will forever be held within me.
My avatar represents for me the German culture in it's current state, it's lost at sea and calling out for help, it needs to be focused and centered. I believe that a constitutional monarchy should be placed in Germany and have the society revitalized and reunified.

The saga of Nor, Gor and Goe

Torfæus on the mytical kong Nor

The sagas origin are estemated to around anno 200, and is our oldest saga, as Kong Nor is our first king. The myth is also called the saga of "How Norway was made", "Hvordan Norge ble til"

The english "translation" at Wiki is crippled and lost in the mist

The Solar Cross have been carved in our bergs for milleniums, and the colors of our flag is quite correct displayed. Cross the circle.

The motto is to the actual situation "Make Norway Norwegian again"

    Thanks

My usnername, the "*wulfaz" means wolf in Proto-Germanic language, it is a reconstruated word. I've chosen it to symbolise the common origin of all Germanic nation. Moreover the wolf is one of the most ancient totem animal of the Germanics and another poeples too.

My avatar is Captain Hector Barbossa from the Pirates of the Caribbean. He is a spanish pirate captain in the Carribean Sea who has a long life with many suffering and joy, but at least he always can be free and independent and democratic.

A pirate ship was a democratic community where the captian makes decisions with the crew. The one-eyed, one-legged high-see tyrannts how the books or later the media have showd the pirate captains is simply not true. If a captain got the dictatoric way, the answer was the mutiny and the captain found ownself in the deepwater.

My life is not long as his, but I live under the greatest sufferings and the greatest joys and I always has wanted to be free and independent and democratic.

In Greek literature and mythology, Nepenthe is a medicine for sorrow, literally an anti-depressant, elixir, a "drug of forgetfulness".

The carnivorous plant genus Nepenthes is named after the drug nepenthe.

Literally, it means "the one that chases away sorrow" (ne+penthos). In the Odyssey, "Nepenthes pharmakon" (i.e. a philter that chases away sorrow) is a magical potion given to Helen by an Egyptian queen; it quells all sorrows with forgetfulness.

It is thought by some that nepenthe might have referred to a real-life opium preparation, perhaps similar to laudanum.

In 'The Raven,' a poem by Edgar Allan Poe there is a reference to "quaffing nepenthe" in order to forget a lost love. ("Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!")

I used to collect pretty, little-known words from various ancient and romance languages, usually as names for characters. I had forgotten about this one for years, but it seems apropos given the current state of the world...

Well my name is firebeard. I have dirty blonde hair with a large red beard that goes along my jawline. I don't have a weak jawline, I just like how uniform and clear cut it looks on my face.
