3D/4D Prenatal Sonography: See Your Baby Like Never Before

My, oh my... How technology has progressed.
    ___________

From a yawn, to a stretch, or the beating of your child's heart, expectant parents can now see and bond with their unborn child in live-motion 3D/4D sonogram. This technology aprovides a positive, introductory experience between parents, siblings, family members and the unborn baby, and creates an opportunity to truly see your baby for the first time, like never before.

Research shows that seeing realistic surface images of the unborn baby provides an emotional connection. Something magical happens when you see 3D & 4D live motion images compared to a regular 2D image, because the pictures of the baby are more realistic…almost like a real-life photograph! With 4D scan the baby can now be seen yawning, sucking, smiling, stretching and performing intricate finger movements. The 3D/4D scanning is just as safe as the conventional (2D black and white) ultrasound imaging.

The scans are performed from 18-38 weeks, though the optimum time is between 24-34 weeks.

4D Ultrasound represents the difference between video and a still photograph. Through this revolutionary technology, a three-dimensional image is continuously updated, providing a "live action" view that leads to a number of medical benefits. Physicians and sonographers can better analyze fetal development. So you'll know what to expect and can feel confident during your pregnancy.

In contrast to other 3D imaging diagnostic processes, 4D allows your doctor to visualize internal anatomy moving in real-time. For example: Movement patterns of fetuses allows conclusions to be drawn about their development; increase of accuracy in ultrasound guided biopsies thanks to the visualization of needle movements in real time in all 3 planes. So physicians and sonographers can detect or rule out any number of issues, from vascular anomalies and genetic syndromes.

Here are some 3D, prenatal images (so cute! ):

Also, go on a wonderful, virtual tour of all 40 weeks of pregnancy... The following link provides a week by week assessment of the important developments of a fetus, as well as offering a corresponding, 3-dimensional image of the growing baby. Click here for the tour.

    Here's a screenshot of week 6:

So, what do you all think of this technology? I think it sure beats the grainy black & white images provided by the standard 2D sonogram.

My brother and his girlfriend did this a few weeks ago. The family got together and watched it the other day. Utterly fascinating. I wonder what he'll say when he grows up and they show him the tape.

They still can not even disprove or prove that cellphones are safe.

    And this? 0000:

People will lie about anything these days for money, even doctors.
The third shall be the final and decisive one.

He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool - shun him.
He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is a child - teach him.
He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep - wake him.
He who knows, and knows that he knows, is wise - follow him.
