    The Best films of 2005

The new year has just broken and I'm sure almost all of us have spend several hours in the cinemas in 2005. Time for a review. So which one was the best film you saw last year? Or do you even have several "Number 1's"?

I liked Sin City a lot, and Saw, of course, which I think was in the cinemas in 2005 at least over here. And Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

    Surely I forgot some.

    Saw, of course.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)

Maybe a 2004 film, but arrived here just by autumn 2005..

    Ring of the Niebelung.

Not quite consistent with the story, but still left me weeping... :

    Hmm.

Sure much was changed, but that much?
Pretty much equals complete distortion... despite there beeing multiple versions of the myth. Even a fairly late development that the niebelungs are explained atall.

Ohwell, still much that was very beautiful.
Perhaps the name was a mistake tho, since it certainly had the story, scenery and charcaters to stand on its own.
    ..despite a romeo-juliettesque ending..

    Sensemoral was there alright, tho.

I somehow found "The Island" very nice...Ewan McGregor is a hottie! *g*

He also stars in Revenge of the Sith. But this is not the reason why I like Episode 3, too.

So this are my two favourites.

By far, Tim Burton's Corpse Bride!!

I also enjoyed very much Sin City, Saw and Nochnoy Dozor.

The Brothers Grimm, Keeping Mum and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where not bad either.

I'm not sure if these came out in 04 or 05, but here we go:
    -The Grudge
    -The Ring (1 and 2)
    -Kingdom of Heaven

and more that I don't remember now
