Question Going Out: What Does a Nice Evening Out With Friends Cost You?

You've got money in your pocket. You think it is quite much and you'll never spend it on one single night out. Then you take the tramway downtown, meet your friends in a bar or club and some hours later on the way home you notice that not one single cent is left. And this although you did not took your dinner in a five star restaurant and drank only 20 year old whisky or lots of "trendy" cocktails. Damn, life can be mean.

How much costs a nice evening out with friends for you?

Anywhere from $50-$200, also depends how much the cab fare would be.

Here in Finland, usually 50-70 euros. I'm not exactly an alcohol sponge, so I'll get away with that pretty much every single time.

In Oslo it is a different matter altogether as drinks cost so awfully much there, double the amount they cost here. There, the evening's bill ranges from 70 euros to 100 and over, even though I don't drink as much or visit the more expensive places where a simple beer costs 70 kr / 0,4 l. And taxi rides, arrgh... living at Alna doesn't mean it's very cheap to stay at the city for late hours, as the last train leaves at 1am or so.

But the next time I am there, lets find out!

Less than 50€. Are you high-society people?

It depends, if I'm lazy and go by car, thus not buying expensive drinks, the cost can stay at around 10-30 euros, if it's i drinking night,it might go off on 50-120 euros.

Hey, we are nearly neighbors! Let us meet downtown for a chat some day?

Or just go to one of those, prole quarters, pubs, 10 beers at €2,5.. (250 spänn)

I don't drink and don't really have any friends, so I don't go out in the sense you're asking. But I do go out to eat with my husband and son, every so often which costs us about 10-50 euros depending on where we go.

Why don't you guys just drink with friends at home and donate the extra money to Northern European forum?
