    Classify Michael Ballack

I always thought he looks quite uncommon for a german, but this is mostly because of his hair. On the other side, saxons are known for their darker, often curly hair. So what do you think?

    : . Hard, hard.

    If he was
    1) British, and
    2)had blue or green eyes

i would have said North-Atlantid from my judgement.
    But, so, hmmm...

He has similarities to a guy from school who was a German pole (that is, both is parents from Poland, but all four Grandparents from Germany - look at your history for that )

Profile would be very nice, but so I will have to say that he has some Nordid influence, but his darkness of hair and eyes could be caused by something else - maybe some european mediterranid influence?

but his darkness of hair and eyes
he has light mixed eyes, it's hard to see on the photos, perhaps better in the second one. I' m not able to give any classification, might be northatlantid with fälish admixture. (I agree with southernboy)

I thought saxons were known to have predominantly fair hair.

Ballack is from Görlitz. KraftAkt means without doubt with Saxons the people of the erstwhile Mark Meißen in the Upper Elbe area which bears the name Saxony since comparatively later times until today (see first map below), while you probably think of the old Saxon stem country in northwest Germany--which is normally called Low Saxony today (see second map). (The modern Saxons are also called occasionally "Upper Saxons").

I couldn't really say that the (Upper) Saxons "are known for their darker, often curly hair", but without doubt the Middle German modern Saxons have relatively less fair hair than the Low German original Saxons.

Ballack looks like a head-on collision between Phalianness and a deal of Mediterraneanness, by the way.

Of course, thats what I was reffering to.

Its only my impression. I have lived there for some time, and I have recognized that darker and curly hair isnt unusual. Its definately more than here in the north.

Another footballer from Saxony(also Görlitz if im not mistalen) is Jens Jeremies.

Another curiosity is, that they are sure a folk that likes to talk more than necessary. 0000: Its quite difficult for us northerners to have a conversation with them that is not one-sided.

Some German-Americans have dark hair and eyes. I've always assumed there was a mediterranean element in the population of the Rhineland. Most of the Germans who came to America in the colonial era were fron the Palatine. Michael Ballack dos'nt look unusual compared to German-Americans. Of course many Germans have intermarried with other ethnic groups since immigrating to America. But I have notice an atlantid-mediterranean phenotype among the Amish in Southern Indiana, and they have only married among themselves since migrating to America in the late 17th/early 18th centuries.
