I've read on an internet site that also the Aramaic spoken in "The Passion" was a modern Aramaic and different from that 2000 years ago. But that's not my business, I'm only competent enough on backbiting on the Latin in the film.

Yup, that's one of the things they hammered into us in latin class too.. Caesar should be pronounced kaisar and not seesar etc.

Strangely that Superjew in the film talked correct of "Kaisar", as far as I remember, when he said to Pilatus that his emperor wouldn't like fuzz in his provinces. (Hmm, what language was that again what he was speaking here, I think the Jud' didn't speak Latin in that scene???) It seemed to be especially the Romans who didn't speek correct Latin in the film. (Also Jesus.)

Edit: Here's an interesting site on that all: http://www.languagehat.com/archives/001196.php
