    Ah, Bladerunner...

I can start talking about it today and finish in a week ..

Read David Harvey's book "The Condition of Post-Modernism", for an excellent critique of the film.

To me, the existential anguish expressed by its characters tops its sociological metaphors.

    Actually it was.

What further meaning can one find in life after having mated with Natasha Henstridge?

Reminds me of my astrophysics readings about stars.

    Yes, I am a dork.

Haven't ever seen Bladerunner though. I take it I'm missing out on something? Perhaps I should rent it.
Should the subduing talisman, the Cross, break, then will come roaring forth the wild madness of the old champions, that insane Berserker rage, of which the northern poets sing. That talisman is brittle, and the day will come when it will pitifully break. The old stone gods will rise from the long-forgotten ruin and rub the dust of a thousand years from their eyes; and Thor, leaping to life with his giant hammer, will crush the Gothic cathedrals!

    ---Heinrich Heine

It's worth a viewing. The soundtrack by Vangelis is excellent too.

Yes, itz a must see, I would NOT recommend the directors cut however, as it does away with Harrison Fords commentary about what is happening, which is helpful as it is a complex, multi-layered sort of film anyway. And it really does take multiple viewings to notice and appreciate all the subtlety.
