Childbirth at Home as Safe as Hospital Delivery: Study

I wanted to do a homebirth with the birth of my son. I arranged for a midwife and everything looked good. But when the day came to be born and I did labor at home, my midwife was too busy for me, and was with me only once for about 5 minutes. I became fearful around transition, and we drove to the hospital where my midwife later joined. Everything with the actual birth went fine with no problems, and my son was and always has been extremely healthy, but the hospital experience was not at all to my liking.

A friend of mine gave birth to his son last November in a city hospital, and they were given a family room where also the whole family, also the father stayed during the time they spent there.

The delivery went well, it was quite fast for a first timer, but my friend lost some blood and was given 2 units because her Hg dropped to 70. She was very weak and pale for days. At home her situation could have gone very bad though, without the possibility to get blood if needed.

That would be nice, I had to share a room with a woman who was having a hard time recovering, she was very annoying. When I complained they told me I was lucky and showed me a room next door where four women were in together. :speechles
