Paul Broca (1824-1880) Professor of Clinical Surgery in the faculty of Medicine and founder of the Anthropological Society in Paris in 1859, is considered the father of Craniography and Racial Science, much of his research is still valid.
Broca discovered that inferior races such as Negroes, Melanesians, polynesians, some Asian races and Amerindians had a feature of their Skull which retarded their intelligence and creative drive this is a Prognathous face, in which the face potruded i.e. jutting jaw and sloping forehead.
European Races however had the opposite feature, an Orthoganous Skull i.e. Straight face & high forehead, with more or less White Skin & straight/slightly wavy hair. This feature of the skull, allowed for the development of higher thought & civilization.
The frontal lobes of the brain are the key to intelligence, reason and creativity a high forehead allows for larger frontal lobes. As well, it has been observed by other racial scientists since Broca too, that the higher races had more convolutions in the structure of the brain than Negroes for example.
Craniometry proved that the less Prognathous Skull, the more intelligent the race. Broca also , had also developed Cranial Index as a measurement of the skull, he concluded that C.I. was not a large factor in creativity as was Orthagany & prognasthy were. It was only usefull in Racial classification within the main races i.e Doliocelphalic or Brachy celphalic. It was believed that the lower races had combined with prognathousthy, hyper-doliocelphalic skulls i.e. Negroes, Eskimoes, & Aboriginals.
See below an illustration from a Serbian National Socialist Magazine (Opstanak: Survival) a European skull in contrast to a Negro Skull.
