Indeed. What Franz needs is to be part of a sudden titanic struggle for Flemish independence. Just imagine, no more time for cultivated conversations in sanguine cafes or nice Belgian chocolates to compromise ones waistline.

The Lion of Flanders cuts free - electrifying! It would upset the cosy status quo and catapult Franz from his boredom (which is of course more important).
A people which takes no pride in the noble achievements of remote ancestors
will never achieve anything worthy to be remembered with pride by remote descendents.

    Cheer up, buddy.
You're still alive, breathing the air, walking on the soil of your kinsmen, yes? A lesson that I have learned (and my teacher was great pain, anguish and desolation) - misery is in the eye of the beholder! Look towards the sky and smile. It will smile back.

Could you fit a horse in the garden of a townhouse?

Seriously though. We used to have a racehorse and it was seriously hard work and damn expensive too

be rich enough to isolate your family

I would never be happy anyway as a rich man living isolated
while shutting my eyes and try not to hear
my peoples desperate cries for help.
i advise every one to, first,
save up their "drop dead!" money.
that is the amount of money
that allows you to refuse to compromise your principles.

then utilise compound-interest to double that money
(the "rule of seventy" does that in one decade)
or by investing in a worthy business enterprise
    or by purchasing homes.

    when you become wealthy enough,
    rather than living in seclusion,
my advice is to develop a business.

    i prefer small businesses,
because they do not attract the government's attention,
    you can exercise closer control
and you get to inter-face with many persons.

pick a business that you would patronise.
i love to read; i grew up in libraries.
my first business was a news-stand.

my garage and patio was cluttered
with my exercise and martial arts equipment,
    so i opened a palaestra.
    i had more room
    for more equipment
and more persons to practice on.

one of my girl-friends had been maintaining
the unix and foxpro for my news-stand.
    she wanted her own business.
she designed and i financed her all-you-can-eat
    teriyaki-chicken-and-rice-bowl place
around the corner from the university.
those college kids eat that stuff with a shovel!

some of your employees will rise to independence.
    finance their businesses
so they can be the good example to others
    that you were to them.
    persons learn by example.

i had this one guy working for me
whose mom had been so "cracked-out"
    while he was gestating
that it required all of his concentration
    to clean the windows
and sweep the floor and sidewalk.
    he was earnest and reliable,
    so i bought him a steam-cleaner
which he uses to clean concrete and glass
    all over town.

after working at the key-board for hours
trying to introduce the bar-code reader to foxpro,
my girl-friend complained of a stiff neck.
as i massaged her neck and traps,
    she moaned luxuriatingly.
    the seven-foot-two four-hundred-pound virgin
    that was watching this
    - requested lessons.

he spent the next year and a half
taking the classes to earn his license
as he continued do my heavy-lifting
and intimidate trouble-makers on the weekend.

    with fourteen 4xlarge(tall) custom t-shirts
that had "7foot2" printed on the back
(the answer to the most frequent question)
and "massage" printed on the front
    (he was a walking bill-board);
a box of business cards bearing the same information
in addition to the number to the pager that i bought him
    - he started a lucrative side-business.

my point is, almost any one can make good money
if they recognise their unique talent
and develop it into a marketable skill.

wage-slavery will not allow you to protect your family
from the evil influences of the workers' ghetto.

    lei.talk is my favorite poster.
He sounds like a horny cat,
on the top of a roof.
    Ruining your night sleep.

    And yet,
if you listen to the moan and groan,
    carefully,
    to the oversea noise,
you pick up the honest words
    of a silent soul.

    "Oh, captain, my captain..."
There he lies on the polished deck,
    as the ship goes down.
    Clustering to the rail,
    gurgling "mine is mine,
    yours is yours".
As the water blinds his eyes.

    Just like a horny cat.

In 10 years...Well, I have a few different plans. My big plans and then my backup plans. I used to be a big dreamer but I try to control that now and won't say that I am going to do something unless I am actually going to do it.

Well I am finishing my BA in college right now. I should of already of had one but I didn't know what I wanted to do so I have changed my major 3 times, and taken time off between each change. About the only plus side to that is now that I know what I want to do I only have mainly my major's area course work to do.

I have two concentrations in my major. I am a German education/German literature major. 1 year from this coming May I should be done with that. Depending on how I feel I can then choose to go onto graduate school in something German related or go teach german in a highschool setting. Teaching german in a highschool in America where there is a significant germanic population is my lowest goal. Places like Pennslyvania, upstate and western New York, Wyoming, Montana, South or North Dakota, Pacific Northwest, the boonies of Wisconsin all have large numbers of germanics and wide open spaces. I love the winter time, wilderness, and germanic people so that is why I would choose those states.

The more farfetched goals are teaching somewhere in Europe. If it was on the mainland, then I think I would want to teach somewhere like eastern Germany. Somewhere that isn't overran with Turks, North africans, and all the other types that are taking over the more cosmopolitian areas of Europe. Northern Europe would be nice but I think it would be harder for an American to get there.

I would like some land. Not a lot because one can't afford a lot of land on a teacher's salary, but enough that I don't have to see the neighbors (don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to owning a huge chunk of land as it has always been a dream of mine to have enough land to shoot guns while naked next to a big bonfire and never hear a word from the police, not that I would run around naked a lot:laugh: ). Horses would be cool, but I would need someone who knew how to take care of them because all I know how is how to ride them (my aunt comes from Texas ranchers, but even her sons don't own horses or like to ride them). Living close to mountains will be a must as I feel a deep desire to climb a mountain every time I see one, probably going to get my flat-lander self killed one day doing that.

Physical fitness goals would be to be in better shape at 35 than I was at 25. Improve my diet some more as I am slowly learning to like vegetables. I would like to be 210 lbs or more with a bodyfat percentage of around 7-10%.

As far a mate goes, if I could have a choice I would like a beautiful germanic women who likes nature more than the city. She doesn't need 10 tons of makeup and hairspray to look good. Doesn't need the latest brand name fashions every year. She should be at least bi-lingual, because raising my children knowing something other than English is important to me. She should like animals like I do (well I am not too crazy about indoor cats). She should also be interested in the native religions of Europe because I don't want to marry a christian or a determined atheist.

    *harrumph*, Heidenlord:

I'm from Germany. I like living at the countryside. I know how to take care of horses, for I was an Icelandic horse trainer before I started with the job I have now. I can speak of course German, some very weird Austrian dialect, English, Swedish and a little French - and I'm learning Norwegian at the moment. I'm not a christian, far from it, I've stopped using hairspray when I stopped being a wild gothic girl at the age of 16, I can teach you some more things about fitness and healthy food for I'm a mountain- and street biker, doing my 200 km a week without getting lapped by my younger training partners yet (yet...) and, yes, I don't need Vogue chic, although I earn my money with it. eyes:

    Ten years from now

I'd like to plant a tree
    in abandoned soil.
    I want it to grow,
    slowly,
    yet reaching for the sun.

    I want its tangling roots
    to reach the abyss
    I want them to grow,
    nourish,
    from heroes mound.
