    Re: aishwarya

Well, she's Europid for sure, at least predominantly. Asian Alpinoid with Indid and Pamirid influences IMO.

Don't want to be picky, but Sudra is an Indian caste, not a racial sub-type.

Yes, but you won't be finding Aishwarya types from the Shudra castes.

Aishwarya is bleached and wears cosmetic contact lenses. There are better "Aryan" types than her.

Isn't Aishwarya a Sudra herself? I think so.

I suppose that by "Aryan" types, you mean European Europid like types, such as Nordindid, Iranid, and some Mediterranoid and Nordoid, then I agree with you.

    She's from a Brahmin family.

    Source?

She's from Mangalore, Karnataka, in Southern India, a linguistically Dravidian area, not Indo-European, thus hardly Brahmin.

I did not find any official site that states her Sudra origin, but for what I've read in different forums during my search she most probably was born in a Sudra family. I suppose it must be kind of tabu to publish it in official sites.

The North-South divide isn't so pronounced as people think it is. There were Aryan migrations into the South, so you'll find Brahmins in the South as well.

So, I've found that Aishwarya is a Bunt. Although not a Brahmin, she's definitely not from a Sudra caste. Bunt is recognized as an upper caste.

Interesting, I had never heard of the Bunts. It seems to be a caste of the Kshatryia varna, so yes, it would be upper caste. Anyway, though it may be considered as an upper caste, it is still 100% Dravidian, thus non-Indo-Aryan.

Would be interesting if any of the Indian members could give more information.

    Re: Classify Aishwarya Rai

Galaico is right. THe bunts are a kshatriya caste and it has been noted by some studies that the Kshatriyas have more Aryan blood than the brahmins at least in the north(warrior caste=more aryan makes sense).

I'd say she's a blend of dravidian and aryan and just because she speaks a dravidic language doesn't make her a dravidian.

Unless, her caste has been mixing with foreigners from European/Middle Eastern countries which could explain her lighter than usual pigmentation. This theory is also valid since the Mangalore coast has always been an area where the Portuguese/Dutch/Syrians etc. have come for centuries.

In reality, most Dravidians or South Indians are physically not very different from the Indo-Aryans of North India. Both the Aryans and the Dravidians belong to the Mediterranean sub-branch of the Caucasoid race.
I think you speak of the veddoid people who live in the southern most region of India. But Dravidians and weddoids are heavily mixed, so it doesn't matter anyway.
