    So you're anti-Clerical?

I dont believe in the church hierarchy anymore either, yet I still consider myself Catholic.

    Indeed

Where I live there is no church for miles and miles yet my children believe in our dogma and of the seasons of God's blessings and wrath. We are pagan in our respect for the aspect of the mother earth's changes and Catholic in the almighty father's word and law.

Does this make sense my friend?

We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot spring blows
Hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands to fight the horde sing and cry valhalla i am coming
On we sweep with threshing oar our only goal will be the western shore
We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot spring blows
How soft your fields of green can whisper tales of gore of how we calmed the tides of war we are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar our only goal will be the western shore
So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins
for peace and trust can win the day despite all your losings

I've never viewed the LOTR as symbolic, unlike the Chronicles of Narnia. The former definitely seems like the personal aggregation of former Heathen sagas into one universe, whereas the later is all Christian and only incidentally mythological of a European sort.
