Question Are You Happy With Your Life?

Are you happy with your life? Are you where you want to be, or are you missing something to fulfill the dream?

I´ve been contemplating these things quite often lately. Well, actually this is a thought that (luckily) regularly pops up in my head. Coming of age seems to force you to take a good look at yourself, once you are finished growing into and used to yourself and accepting who you are.

Personally, I have to watch myself carefully so I don´t fall into the trap of becoming who and what everybody expects me to be. When I let myself drift downstream along with the rest of the crowd, this manifests itself in physical signals; depression and psychosomatic pains (stomachpains, headache etc.).
I have yet to recognize these signs early enough to spare myself months of discomfort, but I´m sure I´ll get better at this.

    As for my life at the moment;

I have the family-thing down, my personal economy is good. The only thing I have to do now is to follow my dream of starting my own company, which I´m planning to go ahead with this autumn.
I would really like to get a more advanced education, but it seems that train has left the station. I will, however, frequent the library in search of all kinds of litterature to broaden my horizons.
And I would like to perfect my tango skills....

    Am I happy?

No....well Ok, I am, but only one week out of the month. 1:

I have a beautiful son, yet divorced (creep)

I have a degree, but I hate business so why bother.

I work so hard for the "movement", yet the drama pisses me off to no end. I gave up.

I have come into my own, and have realized that it is not what you do, but how you feel. Mainly about yourself and your life.

Live every day like its your last, because someday it will be. (enter grim reaper here) As we get older, we acquire wisdom, experience, know-how, and insight. I used to be afraid of passing 30 but that day is coming soon. I have come full circle in the past five years from losing myself in a self created quest, to finding myself and realizing that I had never actually been lost, just busy in a process, my own process of learning or in some cases aging.

I would most likely fear forgetting that the experiences, relationships, and journeys we encounter are more about the process rather than the starting or ending point. Thus by holding on to the memory and the education of the process rather than to the age we are at start, and at end, you can avoid the notion of feeling old and continue to explore and perceive with child like innocence and anticipation.

    As I get older:

The longer I live, the smarter I get. (I think?!?!)
Every day is a new experience.
Memories give me material for writing. (When I can remember them  )
There is always something new to look forward to.
    I take things in stride.
    I can follow my bliss.
    My car insurance is cheaper.

I am not even old yet and I turn out the lights for economic rather than romantic reasons. I was trying to remember where I put my carkeys five minutes after I laid them down, and I thought to my self, you have almost done it all, you have almost seen it all, but you can't remember it all.

I remember when I went with some of my elder Aunts to Woodstock 94. The thing that made me laugh the most, was the continuing announcements from the stage that there was some bad antacid going around. I thought to myself, now this is where I want to be when I get old. I look forward to hitting the big 30 and the big 40 and so on.

So am I happy? So far...so good. :icon12:

I would say so. I am about to graduate from college and go on to graduate school. So things are looking pretty good right now.

Certainly, being a Nihilist, you must know the futility in that.

I am happy with my life, although I seek to make improvements, and having rectitude of intention is crucial. I like to make a distinction between natural and supernatural happiness, too.
Let us not desire delights, daughters; we are well-off here; the bad inn lasts for only a night.
