Wondering if it's worth picking up:

    Book Description
This pioneering work by mythologist and etymologistJacob Grimm (1785-1863), one of the famous Grimm brothers, is translated here from its fourth German edition. This four-volume set contains prefaces by the translator, a supplement collecting the author's posthumous manuscript notes, and an appendix taken from the first edition.

    Grimm's "Teutonic Mythology"

Out of curiousity, has anyone read Jacob Grimm's "Teutonic Mythology"? It comes in 4 volumes, and I'm on vol 1. It's pretty deep but very interesting regarding the origins of the early Germanic people, concentrating on the early gods/worship/priests and heroes.... any other reading suggestions on learning about Teutonic/Germanic people?

    Rydberg Teutonic Mythology 1907

Anything by Hilda Roderick Ellis, she is considered the best in academic circles.
These plus Grimms will give you an excellent accredited understanding.

Then jump off the diving board and read Teutonic Religion by Kveldulf Gundarsson, note there is a great structured study suggestion in the index, use it for a clearer focus.
