    Re: Yoga Postures

    I practise Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

It is really very satisfying. I would like to know what sort of yoga the SS did.

Sorry if that offends the anti-Nazis...

The most important thing to practice is the sun salutation - surya namaskara. I would be highly suprised if our European ancestors did not do something similar.

    AW: Yoga Postures

I always wanted to try out the Yoga, but didn't had the time for it yet.

The SS had Yoga-teachers which came mostly from the tibetan region and north india. What kind of yoga they practise there is something i don't know.

It would have been Hatha Yoga, based upon Patanjalis Yoga Sutras.

    Different teachers have different styles.

Do not wait for yoga, just jump straight in and practice. You are at the right age to start Britain's best teacher, John Scott, (in my opinion) began training in his late twenties.

The Surya Namaskara is only a 20th century invention by the Raja of Aundh. Nothing of antiquity.
