Have you ever heard of Eskimos/Inuits? They lived/live quite close to Iceland for a long time.

Björk denies having any Inuit ancestry. If Brittany Murphy can be Nordish because Loki and Thorburn think she is "hot," I don't see why Björk shouldn't be Nordish as well- I think her music is great and unique, she's a great actress in Dancer in the Dark, and her videos are weird and cool. So, Björk is peripheral Nordish. Case closed!

She even has green-hazel eyes.

Im actually a big fan of Björk's music. I used to think that she resembled a Lappoid type, but then I stumbled across Tydalstyp in Bertil Lundman's book "Nordens Rastyper" in the chapter "4. Rasöversikt. Nordens nuvarande folkstockar." -- see for yourself. I actually see it pop up every now and again in Norway, particularly in Sogn og Fjordane, although Tydal is located in Trøndelag ( "Tydalsras [namnet efter en socken mellan Trondheim och gränsen till Jämtland.] )

The Lapp is best conceived as an offshoot of the Ofnet brachycephalics and retaining if not exagerrating the features which during the colder Magdalénian period helped the reindeer hunters to survive in the circumpolar regions; what seperates them from Eskimos and some Sibirids is the increasing facial reduction and the broadness of the skull, typically cromagnoid elements; Cro Magnon evolved a more squarish and lower face compared to our Middle Paleolithic Neanderthaler ancestors, only in skull largeness is CM equal but narrower than Neanderthalers.
Interesting enough, Lapps and Finns have a relatively high incidence of occipital buns and flatness, lambdoid flattening is common to both the Central European UPs from Mladec and Predmost and Neanderthaler, presumingly actual occipital flattening is nothing more than a thouroughlier and accentuated development of lambdoid flattening, somehow a by-effect of head lenght reduction.

She is definitely peripheral Nordish in the sense that her Nordish heritage is far larger than 50%. If one considers her "Nordish" in the classic sense depends merely on definition, i. e. on how much (semi-)mongoloid admixture one permits. It shall not be overlooked that many of her photos are designed to exaggerate her pseudo-mongoloid features and to create an exotic look. In addition, her genotype might be well more Nordish than her phenotype, given the recessivity of most Nordish traits. I have in individual, exceptional cases little problem with semi-Mongoloid admixture. I consider many Samis Nordish, for example. Regardless, on grounds of her heritage and her offspring, she would just get her act together. Peripheral Nordish, I agree.

I also like her degree of neoteny, her extravagance, her independence, as well as her art and voice, and I think she is beautiful, too. But that had, as always, nothing to do with my classification. The epicanthic fold suits her, too. ; )
