You at least started giving reasons for that.

And the references for that, i.e. quotes etc. I'm not sure whether it was Boas who faked data, but afaik he did make claims not substantiated by the real facts. Does anyone have more info on that?

Re: AW: Re: Who are the worst anthropologists?

Agrippa has read some good sources and he is definitely not politically correct. He is a reliable source. There is a guy who call himseld Visigodo. He has a geat anthropology library and he post quite a lot in Stirpes but have also in Skadi. Anyone who state his source is more reliable than someone who does not. I don't like too many interpretations though. Everyone has biases and one can tell in the interpretations.

It all began with Deniker but Eickstedt was a great physical anthropologist and taxonomist, which is very important to us. I like Ilse Schwidetzky, she seem professional. Günther is unreliable and outdated. I like the fact that he said what he saw in his classifications. Madison Grant was a Nordicist and unreliable. His work is very outdated. Some of Coon's ideas are outdated but he wrote some great things too. I recommend his The Living Races of Man. Lundman's books are quite short and more popular. Lundman is good when it comes to Scando-Nordids but he is probably not the best for the rest of Europe and the world. Lundman emphasised certain (like the height-lenght-index or blood groups) things too much and he was not in tune with modern science, even in his last work from 1988. E.A. Hooton and Fleure (especially about Wales) are quite good too. However, they were no great taxonomists. Baker's work is valuable for those who have not read anything else. I know many (Lundman did too while he criticised Coon's work in 1943 and also 1988) anthropologist held Bunak in high esteem and believed he was one of the greatest anthropologist of his time. I read one of his works in English about the Soviet Union. There was nothing or almost nothing about Russians, so I did not find it particularly interesting. The Russian school of anthropology is free from political correctness and they have produced many good works which are only available in Russian. I only wish they could write more in English.

Nyessen is great to someone who like to learn more about Frisians and the Dutch in general.

Agrippa and Visigodo, of course! Visigodo posted many interesting works in Stirpes like Bañuelos* racial studies.

    *Misael Bañuelos: Spanish anthropologist.

P.S.: what's your opinion about Cesare Lombroso ?

I am not the most well informed about physical anthropology but I do read Russian. Is there anything in particular you can think of that needs translating? Perhaps you've come across things on the net? I'm not very good at finding them, as I don't really know what to look for, but if you point me in the right direction I can at least translate some little excerpts if you like?

LOL--I know a West Virginian who would take strong offence to this statement.

Not to pick on you--but NJ is nothing like either of the other two places you mentioned. It is largely urban and suburban and has few-to-no old stock Americans left.

It's mostly Italian-Americans, Jews, Hispanics and Blacks.

Imagine the hell an American would catch on a forum like this if they said that Bavaria, Brandenburg and Schleswig-Holstein were all the same?

I'm only playing around nätdeutsch--please don't take offence!
