Question What can be done to reduce the number of abortions?

Pretty much everyone has an opinion on abortion: pro-life, pro-choice, pro-both, or niether...but whether or not you think abortion is acceptable in some cases, in all circumstances, or completely wrong, what do you believe are the solutions to it? I think this is more important than whether it is right or wrong, because no matter what stance someone takes on the issue they will believe that it is better if it does not happen!

Possible ones are promotion of birth control and/or abstinance. But how can these work?

I don't think that there really is a solution to it. Unplanned pregnancies happen and there will always be women and girls who absolutely are not willing to go through the complete process of having a baby -even if there is the "adoption option". Likewise there will always be men who aren't willing to support a child.

Since abortion is becoming more common, what, in your opinion, can be done to even lessen the act?
I envision a world where people dawning long white robes and elaborate headdresses run rampant down the streets, waving their arms in the air while screaming "we've gone mad, we've gone mad", like defrocked monks breaking the silence of ages past.

A poll to see where people stand on abortion mighT be interesting on that note!

As for a solution to abortion? don't have one!
There's no real solution - exercise self restraint or be prepared to have your baby if you get pregnant..

Make sure our offspring our raised properly (ie with unconditional love and a gentle, but when necessary firm, guiding hand). That would not stop abortion entirely but ought to stop the bulk of the chronic abortion occurrences. Those men and women raised to take care of themselves properly generally don't go around having unprotected sex nor for that matter becoming alcoholics nor drug addicts, and all the other chronic problems facing society.

This is something much of our Europeon culture does not want to face but it's at the root of a lot of our trouble.
Turman found a copy of The Graduate, and thought highly enough of the story that he made a movie he considered to be 90-percent faithful to the book.

But Turman and director Mike Nichols made one key adaptation, changing the Braddocks from WASP-y blonde characters into a dark-haired, more ethnic-looking family.

    Indeed! A very sensible reply!
People from good, stable, moral backgrounds tend to go on and have similar familes themselves.
Statistics show that abortions, etc are much more common among people from "dysfunctional" backgrounds.

I'm guessing Vanessa is pregnant. You have a brain, why don't you use it.

I was only spectulating that the reason Vanessa asks this question now is because she has an unwanted pregnancy.

My answer to the question would not be a pleasant one for anyone especially women.
