I used to be what one might call chubby a year ago because of some problems I had. However, I started jogging and working out and went from 173 cm tall and 81kg to 175 cm and 67 kg. I was lighter than that too but that made me look too skinny, which is not exactly so nordic in my opinion either. I built more muscles and I look quite ideal now, I believe.

I do not think the nordics always are skinny, as that would not be an advantage during the winters but fit and a bit muscular but not bulky.

What basically make people ressistant to low temp, is skin area to mass ratio, lower is better, but I don't think it played significant role in survival, among IE people in cold climate.

It is simple, Nordids are no cold adapted type, they are just made to withstand colder seasons under rather favourable conditions and for that they have their sheer size - larger volume produces more heat (Bergmann's rule) and probably certain physiological adaptations.

But their general proportions are that of a progressive form which expanded from a warmer climate and could keep its shape due to effectiveness - but this effectiveness needs more energy than the reduced-pyknomorphic saving variants, which is the weak point - together with the higher level adaptation which is more prone to being wounded by negative selection, for the Nordid type - or better was, in Medieval times, now it is primarily negative selection-dysgenic trends alone.

That's why we have tall-robust and shorter-gracile versions of most Aurignacoid Europids (Atlantomediterranid vs. Gracilmediterranid, Iranid vs. Arabid, Nordindid vs. Gracilindid) but not Nordids, which live in a generally rather temperate to even continental climate - not extremely cold, but too cold for a short-lepto-gracile variant.

The climate was not the only factor for this, but one out of others.

Cromagnoids are more cold adapted and Eastbaltids + the Lappid core type are already Mongoloid inspired one sided cold adapted forms = Borealised.
