    Question A Question Regarding Early Germanic Cultures

    Im looking for some good info and images regarding Germanic history from ancient and people. I have done some looking on the net but all I get mostly is Wikipedia which I dont really call reliable. I have started a couple of threads on my history forum http://forum-Olympus.com but like I need good reliable info. Thanks....

    I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but as for ancient germanic information I would try researching these areas.

    Iron-age Jastorf culture: These people were some of the predecessors of the Roman era tribes such as the Cherusci, Chatti, Marcomanni, etc.

    Neolithic Ertebolle, Funnel Beaker, and Corded Ware cultures: All occupied areas around Jutland, North Germany, and Southern Scandinavia.

    The Bronze Age Tumulus and Urnfield cultures of Central Europe should be relative as well.

    Also Tacitus' Germania is a good account of the Roman era Germanics.

    I think this is helpfull. I myself am trying to understand where in Germany my family came from. It is not so easy. History is confusing when you live in the US.
