I doubt that this research is credible.

It claims Russia is one of the biggest drinker country and what consumes alcohol one of the most amount of the world cause russians have this gene what needs alcohol to survive and still these lists points out that Russia is infact in place 15.Sounds pseudo research.I rejoiced too early. Well if russians have this gene, then all those who are before Russia share this same gene.

Scandinavians have a higher rate of this gene than Russians. Does that make Scandinavians even more Mongoloid than Russinas?

I think you are lying but i also said on my previous post that "Well if russians have this gene, then all those who are before Russia(in this list to be more precise) share this same gene."

Re: Russian alcoholism and the "Mongoloid gene"

There was a research on this subject in a schoolbook of mine from 2002 or so. Highest ranking drinkers were the Irish and the Finnish, and according to this research, Russians drank approximately as much as central Europeans. It's a bit exaggerated and misleading statement that this is a "mongoloid" gene, as most mongolid populations can't take as much alcohol as Europeans.
As for Finns....well, ask any man or woman in their fifties or so, were their fathers abusive drunkards. For a mainly agrarian, cold climate society this is almost a rule.

And Mannerheim: "Where invading men have imposed language upon a land but married the local women, there should be a ditinctive set of other genes. This is the case in Finland. The Finns are genetically no different from the other western Europeans who surround them, except in one notable respect: they have a distinct Y chromosome, which looks much more like the Y chromosome
of northern Asian people. Finland is a place where the Uralic language and the Uralic Y chromosomes were imposed on a genetically and linguistically Indo-European population some time in the distant past." -- Matt Ridley, The Genome

    So don't be too cocky.

Actually, neither Finland nor Russia are anywhere near the top in per capita alcohol consumption in Europe.

Could you perhaps quote your research and reveal us which countries are the heaviest drinkers then!!

    Second try.

Actually, I assumed this was more or less common knowledge, but here are some stats anyway:

    http://www.finfacts.com/Private/best...iceseurope.htm

Levels of recorded alcohol consumption vary considerably across Europe. The amount of recorded alcohol consumption ranges from 0.4 litres (Tajikistan) to 17.5 litres (Luxembourg) per adult per year. There is a wide regional spread of countries with an above average level of alcohol consumption, including Northern (Latvia and Lithuania), Western (Ireland and Germany), Southern (France and Spain), Central (Czech Republic and Hungary) and Eastern (Republic of
    Moldova) countries.

Levels of alcohol consumption are falling in many Northern, Southern and Western European countries but rising in a few. For example alcohol consumption in Italy, Germany and France fell by 20%, 15% and 13% respectively between 1992 and 2001, but rose by 27% in Ireland.

In Central and Eastern European countries alcohol consumption generally fell rapidly in the mid-to-late 1980s but has risen markedly again since then. Between 1992 and 2001 alcohol consumption in Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania and the Russian Federation rose by 128%, 124% and 60% respectively.
