Lightbulb The White Dragon - An Universal Anglo-Saxon Symbol

Is there a symbol, flag, banner, crest, standard, or any graphical icon that was used by the Anglo-Saxons as a national/tribal identity? I have done some research that has yielded no results.

The White Dragon, versus the Red Dragon of the Britons?

Good enough to be recognised as belonging to the AngloSaxons by their enemies!

Yep, the White Dragon it is. Although I have a certain fondness for the boar, since it aggravates the Moslems.

    Re: Universal Anglo-Saxon symbol

The Wyvern seems to be the symbol that the Anglo-Saxons united under. Although i made the mistake of stumbling across a thread on Stormfront about whether it was actually white or golden, and am now hopelessly confused on the issue.

    Re: Universal Anglo-Saxon symbol

I think white is a highly appropriate colour these days and anyway, we don't want anyone claiming our dragon or wyvern is yellow.

As a Brit living in America I'm thinking I'm going to get myself some white dragon and English cross clothing and insignia so I can "reprazent ma hood, yo"

Thank you for the information and the links.

    Re: Universal Anglo-Saxon symbol

The short answere is "no." The Angles, Saxons, and Jutes were when they were Heathen, separate tribes so we see a variety of symbols being used. There was the boar, favored by the Angles of the north, while the Jutes seemed to favored the white horse of Hengest and Horsa. The white dragon was the symbol of the West Saxons, although I think this may have been a Christian development.
