This forum is killing the server.

I temporarily changed the following settings:

1. No Guest access (that are about 80% of our users).

2. Subscriptions/post notifications via email disabled.

3. Update Thread Views Immediately - NO
Option to update thread views immediately, or once an hour. If you have a large board, you will probably want to disable immediate updates, since they are quite server intensive.

4. Update Attachment Views Immediately - NO
Option to update attachment views immediately, or once an hour. If you have a large number of inline graphic attachments, you will probably want to disable immediate updates, since they are quite server intensive.

5. *NIX Server Load Limit - ENABLED.

vBulletin can read the overall load of the server on certain *NIX setups (including Linux).

This allows vBulletin to determine the load on the server and processor, and to turn away further users if the load becomes too high.

6. Statistics - DISABLED.

I shall probably have to move the board onto a faster server soon.

Board might go down again.

Kind regards,

- Thorburn
