Paternal blood line ancestry is Scottish but they have been in Leeds for generations, and most of my fathers side are English (particularly Yorkshire and North Eastern) descent. Mother's side is Scots and Irish. I was born in Scotland but only lived there a few years before being moved around all over the place as both parents were in the armed forces. Have lived in Leeds, West Yorkshire since 1988 and consider myself to be English.

I live in South Buckinghamshire. Its pretty weird here as the town i'm living in is very much white and fairly middle class, the town nearby has very large Pakstani and Afro-Carribean population at least 30%+.

All my family going back are from the east coast Suffolk, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire, I do have a little bit of Irish ancestry too I think from Cork area.

    Yorkshire, Calderdale specifically.

Very few people hear of or come to Calderdale, except for Happy Valley. But personally I love it here. We're a very pleasing mix of urban and rural - there's every kind of shop and entertainment you could want in Halifax and Hebden Bridge, but it takes only a few minutes drive from just about anywhere to be in the countryside. We're in the heart of the North, surrounded by the rest of Yorkshire, Manchester, and Lancashire.

I see we Yorkshirefolk are the most populous group of English Skadiites.

That's because Yorkshire is the most populous county.

But where did all the English members go?
