Post Races of the European nobility in the 17th c.

Maybe this doesn't belong here, then please correct me, but after doing research in the 17th century European nobility, I concluded that most of the nobility(French, Polish, Italian, English, Swedish etc) where of Alpinid type, followed by Nordics and Dinarics. I knew sice earlier that in 17th century Europe, Alpinids, especially those with curly/wawy hair like myself where highly appreciated. Very intresting indeed. In the 18th century the beauty ideal turned from Alpinid to Nordic of I don't remember wrong.

Just search on Google or something for paintings made of the famous 17th century artist Van Dyck and look for yourself.

I hope it was somewath intresting and that

Yes, I noticed it too. In fact I was just looking through a book on 17th century art about 20 minutes ago.

That the most of them where Alpinids?

At least the "old" European nobility used to be Alpinids. Now they are mixed up ofcourse, but in those times when noble families married into eachother, the old(?) Alpinid strain was preserved, or so I beleve. Really intresting subject to research in indeed.

I don't know if I'd say most of them. It depends on country too. Seems to be more true in art work from Italy, France, Netherlands and less so from England but did exist there too.

Well, perhaps. And well, on these paintings from the countries you said it is very common, dispite the fact that there is more that Alpinids there. The ultimate beauty ideal in 17th century Europe where Alpinid with some Med and a little Dinaric.
