Post Does puberty cause hair to darken?

My hair was a lighter shade of brown than it is now, and I used to think this was unique to me, but I now have the impression that this happens to everyone. Does everyone's hair darken after they go through puberty (except people who had black hair to begin with, of course)?

Is there anyone here, whose hair today is not darker than it was while you were a little kid?

I was born blondey/red and my hair went progressively from light brown/dark blonde to brown with red and gold tones.

I had light brown hair with slight reddish tones as a toddler, medium brown hair without any discernable red as I got older, and eventually dark brown at puberty

When I was a young child, my hair was very blonde and curly, but it got darker and straight when I was about 8 or 9. Now it's a light brown.

Of course, the pictures you've seen, as stated, show my hair following a meeting with black hair dye

My hair always stayed the same yellow color, it didn't darken even a little bit.

When I was a baby, I had almost white blonde hair. It got progressively darker, until quite recently. By last year, it was a weird mix of blonde, brown, and red (depending on how the sun hit it), and now it's become dark blonde.
