Fenno-Ugrian, because of the Kalevala. It's BEAUTIFUL.

I don't understand where the fascination of Slavs comes from
Someone just explained it, a couple of posts above yours.

Celts, Slavs, Northern Italians, Hellenes of ancient times - all are my "favorites."

I like Slavic architecture and their valor, just to mention two points. I'm speaking of culture, not who I want to live amidst.

I think the answer is easily the Celts for me. Beyond that I would say I appreciate Italiac and Hellenic cultures in a very close second. After this I would say Slavs. I honestly don't know much about Finns, though I have read the Kalevala (why is Väinämöinen so cool?), and I don't know much about Albanians either. Honestly though I do find the Georgian people fairly fascinating, especially some of their folk music, a prime example being Chakrulo.

I favor Celtic over Basque. The two are almost equally intriguing to me. I read on another forum that the Basques could be descendants of the western Greek explorers... modern descendants of the famed lost tribe of Illyrians. On the other hand, the Celts, in my opinion, are the closest to Germanic tribes. Thus, I am compelled to vote for them. Their architecture, jewelry, and unique motifs are simply inspiring. The universal loyalty & patriotism shared by Celts to their numerous cultures never fails to impress me, too.

I've been to Greece a lot of times for vacation. Although they have economic problems at the moment, there is nothing wrong with their culture.
Especially considering their historic contribution to the western society.

I favour the Finno-Ugrians as I has lived among them 30 years ago and this people, the Hungarians have fantastic folkmusic with dance, the rural and historical costumes are great and the language is very interesting as it have a delicate sound and a proper grammar like the German or the Latin.

The Hungarian history has very tragedic and very heroic parts, the Lord of the Hungarians ruled the whole Carpathian Basin with infinite resources of gold, coal, salt, wood and water. However after the Habsburg Double-Monarchy, Austria-Hungary was collapsed after the war, Hungary has lost thhe 3/4 of his territories. Well, here were minorities, but just tell anyone a country in the 19th century which had not minorities. Hence nowadays Hungary is a Great-Plain with middle-high 500–1000 m mountains. The two greates river is the Danube and the Tisa what flows to the Danube in the formal Hungarian territory, now Serbia. This lost of territories has mean that the country has been never more self-supporting. The Medieval Kingdom of Hungary and later Austria-Hungary were greatpowers, nowadays Hungary is just one of the ministates of the region. The most of Hungarian know and feel it, however this is irreverersible.

    Austria with the Medieval Hungary:

    The nowadays Middle-Europe:

The Hungarian folksoul is beautiful. In the time of peace they are each again always, however something threats the country they become one heart, one will. The Hungarians a little bit wild like as their steppe-horses what had carried them here from Eastern-Europe. Moreover they are very pride from an average man till the rulers of the country.

I can suggested that everyone visit Hungary, the capital what is an eastern Paris, and the countryside.

I links a video what shows the irrepressible soul of the Hungarian.

    Mouth Harp and Spur

"Remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus,"or that virtue "was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."
