In the Cairo Museum the green ceramic stone on Tutankhamun's breastplate consists of an unknown mineral - until in the 1930's a single unique deposit of thesame mineral, a 'Green Glass' was found in the Libyan desert.

'Libyan desert glass' is only found in a roughly oval surface area of around 130 x 53 kilometres.

Asa suspected relic of an 'impact event' the Green Desert Glass (almost pure silica) remains as a scientific curiosity/ odd natural event.

Has anyone out there ever been meteorite/'glass hunting' in that part of Libya?..............
