    Re: Tea anyone??

    Splendid thread

    We English generally love our tea - and I am no different. I love my hot teas in the morning, afternoon and night to generally give me a little kick into life - hell, I am drinking one right now!

    My usual set-up:

    - PG Tips tea bag;
    - A dash of milk;
    - Two sugars.

    AW: Tea anyone??

    " We English generally love our tea"

    IIRC the British were coffee-addicts before (colony-wise) tea became so much cheaper than coffee and thus becoming the national drink.
    I don't like either. I can't stand hot drinks at all.

    I don't drink anything "hot." I like tea (orange, green, and chamomille), and I love coffee. Cocoa is nice as well. Anything hot, I make it and let it sit out till it is only warm and I can drink it down in one drink.

    Re: Tea anyone??

    Strong coffee in the morning, black. (sugar is for cakes and cookies)

    Very strong tea (Twinings engilsh breakfast is my favourite) in the evening. I guess green tea can be alright too, but I prefer black. No sugar or milk, except when we're eating curry at home, in which case we put 1 or 2 cloves in a black tea kettle and add a tiny bit of milk.

    My only problem is that I like it so much that the quantities of caffeine I absorb in a day are borderline dangerous.

    An advice for heavy coffee/tea drinkers: drink a glass of water between each cup, it will prevent your body from dehydrating.(caffeine does that)

    I'll tell you coffee drinkers a cooking tip. If you have leftover coffee in the pot, use it in making your beef marinade, or pour it over a roast you are about to cook. It helps to tenderize the beef and seems to bring out the flavor better. Just don't overdo it and put in too much. Maybe about 1/2 cup- 1 cup.

    AW: Tea anyone??

    I prefer tea because after a cup of coffee I get really nervous and I always have to do anything...
