Wink Dog worship day in Katmandu

Police dogs with garlands and traditional colors marking their foreheads pose after being worshipped and given food during the dog worship day in Katmandu October 24, 2003. Nepal is celebrating the Deepawali festival for five days during which Nepalese Hindus worship crows, dogs, cows and the godess of wealth. Deepawali is the second great festival of the Nepalese.

Nepalese police officer Dandapani Bhattarai garlands a police dog during a ceremony in conjunction with the Deepawali festival in Katmandu October 24, 2003.

What!! No basset hounds up there on the pedestal? If they are going to worship a dog it might as well be a noble one like the basset.
Turman found a copy of The Graduate, and thought highly enough of the story that he made a movie he considered to be 90-percent faithful to the book.

But Turman and director Mike Nichols made one key adaptation, changing the Braddocks from WASP-y blonde characters into a dark-haired, more ethnic-looking family.

If "1.27 billion people ' can worship an inert black meteorite each day, why not tolerate the few millions who worship 'Man's best friend'.

At least a dog can respond with cuddly canine gestures (no I'm not thinking of leg mounting) and gives one an excuse to go to the Pub as a place of worship with said canine deity.
