Report about the decline of the german beer (especially Pils). And new breweries in USA as the opposite. Mainly in german language.

For instance: The local brewery of my hometown just close to build a new useless shopping mall. It was also a restaurant with real german food. Now only Döner and Pizza shops left.

    Just bought couple of beers:

I prefer different brands of beer and different beer types. My favorite types are wheat beer and pilsner. I like:

    Staropramen Premium Pilsner

Staropramen Brewery is the second largest brewery in the Czech Republic, situated in Prague. It was founded in 1869 and the brand name Staropramen, literally meaning “old spring,” was registered in 1911.

Pilsener Urquell (Original Source of Pilsner)

Pilsner Urquell was the first pilsner beer in the world.

    Asgaard Pils

Asgaard Pils is a beer produced and marketed by the AsGaard Brauerei Schleswig in Germany.

    Berliner Kindl Weisse

Berliner Weisse (alternative German spelling, Berliner Weiße) is a cloudy, sour wheat beer of around 3% abv. It is a regional beer from Northern Germany, mainly Berlin, dating back to the 16th century. By the 19th century, Berliner Weisse was the most popular alcoholic drink in Berlin, and 700 breweries produced it. By the late 20th century there were only two breweries left in Berlin producing the beer, and a handful in other parts of Germany. The name "Berliner Weisse" is protected in Germany, so it can only be applied to beers brewed in Berlin. However, there are a number of American and Canadian brewers who make a beer in the Berliner Weisse style, and use the name.

And this beer is for special moments.

    So, now I’m thirsty. Cheers.

This one is my favorite among the Swedish lager beers. It's a regular lager, but it's really tasty at that.

US microbrews have come in leaps and bounds, outpacing European beer makers (in my humble opinion). European beers are still unmatched in tradition and quality, and some of my choice picks are from Belgium and Germany, but my favorite beers have pivoted to American craft brews, particularly Northwest breweries. To name a few...

    Buoy IPA (OR)

    Breakside "Wanderlust" IPA (OR)

Gigantic "Cascadian Dark Ale" (CDA) (OR)

Iron Horse "Irish Death" American Strong Ale (dangerous stuff) (WA)

Hop Valley "Light Me UP" Lager (OR)

Good Life "Sweet As" Pale Ale (OR)

Fiddlehead "Second Fiddle" Double IPA (VT)
New Englander Skadites should peel their eyes for anything from Fiddlehead, great stuff.

Shoutout too for all of the many little breweries who haven't bottled or canned their beers.

I see there's even a smiley on here (above ^) that you can get by typing 'guinness' ... nice!

I have a couple of chilled cans in the fridge ready for this afternoon's England v Sweden football match

In a pub I'll have any decent bitter, usually Thwaites. I'm not keen on lager or very winey real ales.

I like fairly strong (about 4.6%) bottled beers of medium bitter taste. I've recently been drinking the Iron Maiden Trooper beer and one called Maple Moon, by Holt in Manchester.

But I don't understand why beer has to be fizzy (carbonated). I actually prefer it almost flat.
