Where were you when Kennedy was shot?

    .

Where were you when Kennedy was shot?

You are not suspected to have had a finger on the trigger, and asked for an alibi...
But certain things makes people remember what they did and where they were when they heard about it.
The Kennedy assasins are such occations.

1963: Kennedy shot dead in Dallas

The President of the United States has been assassinated by a gunman in Dallas, Texas.
John F Kennedy was hit in the head and throat when three shots were fired at his open-topped car. The presidential motorcade was travelling through the main business area of the city.
    Source:
    U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy
was fatally wounded by a gunshot in Los Angeles on June 5, 1968, and passed away 25 hours later. The convicted assassin, 24-year-old Palestinian Sirhan B. Sirhan, attributed the killing to Kennedy's support for Israel during and after the Six-Day War, although there is no record of RFK supporting Israel during that period. On March 3, 1969, in a Los Angeles, California court, Sirhan admitted that he had killed Kennedy. Sirhan has since recanted, and as late as 1998 has sought a new trial.

    Various critics have claimed the official account of Robert Kennedy's death is inconsistent and incomplete, and/or that the killing was the result of a conspiracy. Source;

I wasn't even born when it happened, and not for a long time after that, either.

Is this a trick question to find out who the old people are at Skadi? I was around at the time but I do'nt remember what I doing. Probably the same thing I did during the Cuban missle crisis, playing with my toys in the backyard blissfully unaware of what was going on.

I was one of the "not born yet" also.

I can tell you where I was when the Challenger exploded.

Re: Where were you when Kennedy was shot?

I was a warm and sunny day, I lived in Narvik in 1968...

I think it was about two O`clock. I had just been on the beach, and came home a little bit early. I had forgotten my key, so I had to climb up to the balony, where the door was open. As I came in, i passed the radio on my left side and turned it on, before I went to the kitchen to get some water.

Then I heard it clear and loud on the news. I got dissappointed and sad over that such was possible. I was small, but I had heard of Kennedy, and has sensed his spirit of youth, and believe it, he was welcomed by us children, the propaganda of him appealed to us little and young ones over here. We talked much about the days after...

At those days, it was cold war, and we lived under the propaganda, that the Russians would invade us anytime.

Then I guess you neither remember where you were when man took his first steps at the Moon?

OK, I'll bit. I was 16 and was sick so I stayed home from school that day and was in bed asleep. Suddenly, my mother burst into my room and said that I had better get up, the President has been shot. I went into the living room and sat down on the sofa, watching a black and white TV six feet away. My mother was sitting in the kitchen on a chair, not wanting to see but she could hear the TV. There was the confusion at and inside the hospital when we heard no real information but lots of speculation. Finally, Walter Cronkheit came on the TV and said that President Kennedy was dead. My mother cried even though she was a Republican and had voted for Nixon. I was stunned. This was the first person I felt I knew who had died. I couldn't believe it at first. How could this happen in America?

This shock never left me. Kennedy was loved by most Americans at the time. Later, during the Vietnam War, as it became apparent that politicians were needlessly sending people my age that I knew very well off to die, I and others wondered aloud why it would be immoral to take out one or two truly evil men costing thousands of lives. I have never lost this attitude. It is a cheapening of life and I know it.

Cuban Missile Crisis. October, 1962, about a year before the Kennedy death. During the peak of the crisis a fall storm found its way to Los Angeles. At night in bed asleep I awoke at a huge explosion with a flash of light filling the room coming from the east, where the bomb would have landed. I sprang out of bed to the window and looked out expecting to see a mushroom cloud, my heart pounding. No mushroom, only clouds, it was just lightning and thunder from the storm.

Thore Hund asked me in a rep point where I was when the Challenger exploded then (since I mentioned it above)......

I was in elementary school. We had just arrived at school and they sat us all in front of the tv to watch it go up. When it did, it exploded.
