The winner of the Devon flag competition also looks remarkably like the Vinland flag. Curiouser and curiouser.

Also, I always heard my fellow Lancs say "scran" for food, rather than "scram." Possibly just word evolution/devolution or a regional difference. I'm from Manchester and sadly, the Mancunian dialect has got more and more nasal and annoying over the years. I can't stand hearing chavs talk, it makes me want to scream and plough a seax into their foreheads. I should count my blessings, in a way, that hearing American accents means that I'm not constantly exposed to "eeyah mate, got any screb-ends mate? Wot a top knob" and the like.
