    my phobias

I, too, avoid ladders, but it's not entirely a phobia. I have a very poor sense of balance and I once had an aluminum ladder buckle under me while I was leaning to the side picking mulberries, depositing me most ungently on an asphalt-surfaced driveway. Amazingly, I got no broken bones, probably because I was well padded with fat.

I have also been bothered by fear of flying in large commercial aircraft [oddly enough, not in light 'planes]. I don't think that that's an irrational fear, though, not when I so often see those tragic words "no survivors" in accounts of airliner crashes. :O

As Woody Allen put it so sagely, "I'm not afraid of flying; I'm afraid of crashing." I have been in two railroad accidents in which, mainly because they occurred on the ground, no one was killed or even seriously injured.
One of them involved an explosion :eek and, had it occurred 10 km above the Earth's surface, would surely have been a disaster.

I now cope with flying, when absolutely necessary, with the aid of a powerful tranquilizer called Ativan. As a young man, I used to use alcohol for the same purpose and spent the day after my arrival at my destination horribly hung over.

I can't think of a phobia. I'm one of those weird humans who lacks fear for some reason. Even as a child I was kind of messed up, because of this everyone always knew me at the hospital. Every week or so they would say: "hey he is here again". Be it from falling from 2 stories high building tree's braking arms or burning half my body (and no I don't have any marks left thank god). Hell I was so retarded I even kicked some escaped rabied German shepard, so it would not devour some kitten. Now that I think of it I must be favoured by the gods to survive such stupid acts.

    Phobias

You are indeed fortunate. The only other person I ever knew who had no fear of anything committed suicide at the age of 20, not because of fearlessness [though that must have made suicide easier for him], but because, he was also an incredible klutz.

Poor Sean couldn't do ANYTHING right. He couldn't grasp the distinction between low gear and reverse, wrecking one car by driving it into the wall of a ramp garage while trying to back out of a parking space, and another by starting in reverse at a stoplight, thus backing into the car behind him. :O

His father had to take his driver's license away from him because he was costing the family a fortune for insurance (and cars). He got as far as college where he flunked EVERYTHING (even P.E.) in his Freshman year.

Alas, he was the nicest kid you'd ever want to know, kind, polite, helpful [though it was best not to accept his help which might lead to disaster.]
But, he was totally fearless. At four, he got 2nd degree burns on both arms by attempting to pick up and carry a lighted charcoal grill. :eek

Fear serves a useful purpose. As the McGuffey Reader put it "The burnt child shuns the fire." :runaway

    Fears/Phobias...

I got the idea for this one from another forum I frequent, post things you fear.

I fear pooping myself during a Jujutsu match. I saw a Judo match on Youtube where the guy exerted too hard and crapped himself while wearing a white gi, ever since then it's been a lingering thought. Total nightmare, so far I've been lucky!

I have a fear of the ocean and sea in that by watching various documentaries I know all the various creatures in it that can seriously damage a human being in so many words.

[I'm afraid of the things within the ocean and sea.]

I'm a land lover I guess you can say.

I guess this would be classified as thalassophobia.
National Socialism is the only salvation for Germanics and Europids everywhere. Capitalism, libertarianism, and communism is the enemy.

National socialized collectivism must prevail over radical individualism.

Spiders?, no, its these things you want to be afraid of, spiders dont fly and chase you, these do, and with venom powerfull enough to desolve human tissue, its no wonder "Each year in Japan, the human death toll caused by Asian giant hornet stings exceeds that of all other venomous and non-venomous wild animals combined, including wild bears and venomous snakes."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_giant_hornet

Now theres a phobia worth having, you wont find me even buying a Japanese vehicle, let alone visit the country!

Rats, I fear rats. I don't mind mice so much but rats that is a whole other story. For some reason they just give me the creeps.

Spiders, snakes, bats and other creepy crawlies I can deal with, but rats I just can't stand them.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.
