    Watching TV gives you Alzheimer's

    http://www.lakartidningen.se/engine.php?articleId=3572

A study has discovered how middle-aged poeple's every extra hour of watching TV increases the risk by 30% of their getting Alzheimer's disease later in life.

("I en studie av Robert Friedland och medarbetare visade det sig att TV-tittande utgjorde en risk att senare insjukna och att varje extratimme TV-tittande per dag ökade risken för alzheimer med en faktor 1,3 [6].")

No surprises. But no one here watches TV anymore, right?

So still I've still got some years to watch...

Huh? I can't live without my daily hour of The Simpsons!

I don't believe in this! I know a woman who got this disease even without watching tv every day! She watched only 2 or 3 hours a week...

The same as cancer... You can get it even if you don't smoke or drink...

No t.v., i'll buy some t.v. series on DVD but that's it. It wasn't surprising that the study targeted soap operas and talk shows. and proved what I had already thought.

The study says the risk of getting Alzheimer's disease increases by 30% per every extra hour of watching, not that you will avoid getting it if you don't watch TV. There's a fundamental difference.
