She's a mix of Pontic and White-Sea Baltic (with the Pontic element obviously predominant), a combination not uncommonly found among Turkic speakers of the Volga. What ethnicity is she?

She's a Tatar from Bugulma, Tatarstan.

Alsou's parents are quite different at heart, her father is strict, were as her mother is quite the opposite, being described as very soft. Alsou, Tatarstans' merited actress, describes her father Ralif Safin, who is the vice-president of the petroleum company "LOKOIL", as strict with traditional customs and her mother Raziya's nature as gentle. She fondly recalls that she had a very happy childhood. Never hiding the fact that she is a Tatar and a Muslim, she instead has shown great pride in her motherland- Tatarstan and has said that she is "proud of her historical native land". She says she constantly tries to work to justify the trust of her countrymen. Alsou had written a song for the film "Atlantida" called "There, where all springs come true", where Dimitri Haratyan plays the leading role in this film, about the life of a small village in
    Crimea.
