Hey I like Mortiis' newer stuff too, kind of like Yanni if he was posessed by Satan.

Now playing: Rhapsody-Power of the Dragon Flame [while my baby sister is playing some 70s disco shit in the adjoining room]

Yeah I heard that Mortiis said the Smell of Rain was influenced by Trent Reznor of NIN, although I used to be into NIN years back before he became crap I have to say I LOVE Mortiis's new stuff. My favourite has to be Smell the Witch!

I downloaded some of hie earlier stuff and I have to agree with Hellstar and say it perhaps some of the most beautiful and emotive music I have ever heard, very dark ambient folk.

What songs by Burzum are folky again, I'll download them as I heard one folk one and thought it was excellent, I'll be honest I don't think Black Metal is my thing but that folky stuff is totally AWESOME!

Have you ever heard of ENDURA?

I bought a CD of their just because it had a song about CTHULHU on it, man are they something else????

Very dark ambient stuff.... lots of Sumerian chanting, thunder and very HPL / Necronomicon orientated, the best CD has to be ELDER SIGNS.

Skinny Puppy? I've got one of their CD's somewhere although I prefer Frontline Assembly (RESIST! RESIST!)

    Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fthagn!

Total mad German techno industrial hardcore!!!

    Tragic Hero is my favourite!

Mind you I'm listening to the Velvet Acid Christ remix of Third World War and that's totally f*cking awesome.

been downloading some folky stuff too

I have a CD full of Death in June MP3's and one by a German group, very similar to Laibach callen Von Thronstahl.

The folky stuff is cool, done by two girls from Holland called Ygdrassil, very different from agressive techno based music I usually listen to.

Another group I like are Stoa, very much like Dead Can Dance, sort of medieval. I also LOVE the Medieaval Babes... who wouldn't????

i love death in june and dead can dance. just saw current 93 play in sf, was a good show. if you like folky stuff check out garmarna.
they are a swedish folk band. their older stuff is better and sounds more raw and less produced whereas their newer stuff sounds like they spent alot more money and time in the studio but its all good and i own all their stuff. let me know i have a whole list of good folk stuff like that that i would be more than happy to pass on to you.

That's really kind of you but it's probably easier to download it off Kazaa.

I downlaoded a load of old Mortiis Cd's last night.

I had them somewhere but lost the CD I burned them on.

The music is so cool, so etheric yet so majestic too.

If you can name some folky type bands I'll try to look for them on Kazaa.

I downloaded some stuff by Blood Axis, to be honest with you i thought it was too surreal for me. But then again I am now listening to the Wickerman sound track...

    love that film... :pissed

ooooops, used the wrong emoticon, it should be one of a face burning up in flames, like the Wickerman....
