    What are Polynesians, Racially?

They are usually tall-statured, and look like a Australoid and mongoloid mixture with some caucasoid influence, or am i wrong?

They are their own subspecies; the "Polynesoid".

They show various affinities to the different groups you mentioned and might be finally closest to some Palaemongolid forms, but are finally a group on their own.

They are near-unambiguously SE Asians like other Austronesian speakers. They acquired degrees of Melanesian admixture and seemingly a Jomon-Ainu type strain. Not least their physiques are cold adapted though most of them lived in the tropics. Why this is no one knows. Easter Islanders resembled fossil Paleoamericans proved by recent studies. This should re-open the question of Make-Make and the bird cult arriving from South America.

Past authors claimed to identify different racial elements (like Mediterranean) or different points of origin. These authors were usually not familiar with unmixed Polynesians, else they were driven by ideas that needed "proof". One exception was the ornithologist Pycraft. His species Homo sandwicensis included Polynesids as well as Pacifids. He was wrong.

The only possible pre-Polynesian inhabitants of Remote Oceania were maybe other Austronesians. They wouldn't have altered the chronology much, else island extinctions would have hit much earlier. I remember some limited evidence for an earlier settlement of Hawaii and New Zealand. A slightly earlier settlement of NZ might explain a more Melanesian strain in the Maoris.
