    Swedes bow before Islamic intolerance

    http://www.bnp.org.uk/news_detail.php?newsId=785

In a move which has shocked its Nordic neighbours and set alarm bells ringing through Europe the Swedish government has forced the closure of a website of a patriotic political party.

The website of the Swedish Democrats published a joke cartoon of Mohammed in a similar vein to the dozen cartoons first published in Denmark in September 2005 which have angered Muslims and led to rioting across the Islamic world.

The site's host, Levonline, pulled the plug on the website of the Swedish Democrats' SD-Kuriren newspaper after consulting with the government. It is believed to be the first time a Western government has intervened to block a publication in the growing row.

    Illegal move

A SD spokesman said that the Swedish government was acting illegally. Richard Jomshof editor of the website said "We have to do something about it. This is illegal. They can't do this just because we are a small magazine."

"They are cowards for not standing by the Danish people and Jyllands-Posten."

This act of appeasement will be greeted by the Muslim world but has to be seen as an act of weakness, a betrayal of the western values of free speech and freedom of expression. The neighbourly Nordic Danish government has gone to great lengths to explain to Muslim representatives that the Danish government cannot apologise for the content of an independent publication.

The move reinforces the decision by the BNP to have its websites hosted out with the UK. If our site was to be hosted in this country one could guarantee that the New Labour regime, which places far more importance on keeping the Muslim vote than allowing British citizens the ability to exercise free speech, would have pulled the plug not long after we published the controversial cartoons last weekend.

To date the BNP website is the only British publication which carries the cartoons.

As we go to post this story the SD-Kuriren website remains closed.

Laila Freivalds of the Swedish government has already apologized as well.

Somnething to the effect of: "I apologize that there are people like the Sweden-Democrats in my country, who are ruthless enough to publish these insulting pictures". [not 100% correct quote, free from memory]

    She is literally disgusting.

People are no longer represented by their governments. New age left wing/liberal alliances tend to act alone and force complicity by means of draconian legislation of the population. They are equally not voted into power by vast majorities as so many people no longer wish to vote at all. So it is largely these unrepresentative elites that speak for masses of natives who feel increasingly caged and silenced by creeping left wing fascism and enforced multiculturalism. Liberty and liberalism parted company some time ago. The only solution is to consolidate opposition and fight back. This may mean that the tactics used need to go beyond aggravating religious zealots or prompting multiculturalists into knee-jerk responses of racism.

The post below repeated itself as the server closed the response while reading it. I've just taken the repeat out of this one.

Is that the same Laila Freivalds who said last Friday:

"The human rights situation deteriorated in many countries in 2005. People are being discriminated, persecuted, harassed, tortured and executed in total contravention of the common rules and values agreed upon by the countries of the world. People are being denied the right to express their opinions and to take part in free and fair elections,"
    http://www.sweden.gov.se/sb/d/6352/a/57633

How astonishing that the following week she would deny her own people such rights!

In England it is the same hypocrisy and double-speak with Tony Blair, he talks proudly of English ancient liberties and then bows down to the Islamist threat. All we see around us is the most profound “Dhimmitude”
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/op-ed/dwest.htm

When magazines intend to publish the cartoons, the police force quickly inform the individuals concerned that they will be unable to protect them. In a speech to the Labour party's spring conference in Blackpool yesterday, he said:

“Yes, freedom of speech is an ancient liberty. But it should be exercised with responsibility because if it is not another ancient liberty - the right to life - is put at risk.”

“the right to life is put at risk”” By whom Mr Blair?

Who exactly puts this ancient liberty at risk? Only those who cannot stomach free speech in the first place? What Blair is saying is tantamount to this transformation of the well known adage: When in Rome do as the Romans do…:

“When in Rome only do and say that which doesn’t upset the Barbarians, because your life might be at risk”

Yes, the Barbarians are no longer at the doors of Europe, they are well and firmly entrenched and are living amongst us now. This is appeasement writ large, this is bowing down to an every growing enemy within. What Blair is saying is on a par with Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler.

Yes, freedom of speech is an ancient liberty, was seen as inviolable in this country, although always subject to political pressures. It is one of our ancient freedoms (do people remember Hyde Park and the famous Speaker’s corner?) Islam has transformed this into a distant mythology. Following on from the Rushdie Affair, there are now sufficient Islamists resident in Britain that make this ancient freedom impossible to uphold any longer, because they threaten death (beheadings, slayings, terrorism) to anybody who ridicules, or criticizes their religion. They are so fanatical that they turn themselves into suicide bombers, at first for Hamas and then in London July 7th.

Blair is now saying we must make sure that in what we say we do not put any lives at risk.

I can’t believe that a British prime-minister has stooped so low to say this! Yet he received a warm applause for it yesterday! All of his predecessors must be turning in their graves. What would Winston Churchill have said to the idea of Britons, that they are now rendered slaves in their own country, slaves because they must fear what they say or think, might result in their deaths by Islamists? Is this not why we fight wars?

The hypocrisy is clearest when we consider that Blair himself has the deaths of hundreds of British soldiers on his hands in the very attempt to create freedom of expression and freedom of speech in Afghanistan and Iraq. A few years ago he said:

“Now, it's a struggle, because democracy is hard to bring into countries that have never had it before. But I've no doubt at all that the Iraqi people, given the chance…they'll want to elect their leaders. Why wouldn't they? I mean, why would they want a strong-arm leader who's going to have the secret police, no freedom of speech, no free press, no human rights, and no proper law courts? “

Now it is the same fundamentalist ideology of Islam that is denying freedom of speech and a free press here at home!! In our own lands, our ancient liberties are being trashed! Both Laila Freivalds and Tony Blair are hypocrites.

Where is the European resistance? Where are those who wish to fight for our ancient freedoms? Where is the massive silent majority? Surely we need to raise our voice above these pethetic representatives of the people, and their media lackeys, we need to be seen and heard. Who is organising a European march for freedom of speech and liberty of the press, all of the great gains of European Enlightenment are being rolled back these Islamists.

Unfortunately, they're all standing around in their own wizz. Because portals like this one exist the fanatics have seized upon it as an opportunity for more wailing and weeping over the insults to the great and faceless acolytes of some Middle Eastern deity none of us have any obligation either to like, to respect or to believe in. This is something a lot of people don't consider.

I watched the pathetic movie last night calling itself "King Arthur". It was nothing more than a Saxon bashing exercise and an attempt to bring consumer feminism to the battle fields of ancient Britain by means of a cheeky female archer of the "woads" (eh? who dey, mahn?) who actually turned to a warrior at her side when he mentioned the ferocity of the opposition and said "Don't worry, I won't let them rape you." I nearly choked on my Danish butter biscuit. How offensive!

In the beginning of this excuse for a cinematic enterprise the Saxons are described as vicious killers who slaughter indiscriminately everyone in their path. This is claimed as though it were a truism. Then we are treated to a Saxon warrior busily raping a village "woad" (presumably a Celt or Briton) and the Saxon leader tells him to stop as they must not race-mix. Then when the woman thanks him he turns to a warrior and says "Kill her." All that was missing were the uniforms and the armbands. It was an offensive, badly made, badly acted piece of invective against the Saxons in which the native Britons were portrayed as naked savages who sniffed the air like animals and seemed to take their political direction from mist and wind and trees.

However, did any of us go berserk and take to the streets threatening to "massacre" or "behead" the director because he portrayed us as rapists and murderers and savages without any justification or regret? We did not. Possibly because we are stupid. Maybe we should have. But supposedly this does not happen in the west because we have freedom of speech and if you don't like something you are free to argue against it, as Kipling mentioned, on any soapbox you like and good luck to you. This is the clash of civilizations in a nutshell. What is freedom for us is outrage and incitement to commit violence against infidels for others. How on earth can two such opposing ideologies be expected to live side by side and share anything like a democracy? They can't and because we are so backward in coming forward on this issue because lefties are speaking for us and we are sitting around playing with ourselves while Rome burns, we shall all be mightily sorry when the curtain comes down on our act.

The fact remains that no matter how much it irritates someone else a cartoonist from a tabloid is free to satirise the icons of another culture in his homeland. It is not as though these people did this in an Islamic country. Then it would have been an issue for which they would have had to answer to the powers that be. And the powers that be there are draconian and absolutist and will hang you up by your appendages for burping at a concert if they feel like it. But that is their way. When in Rome ... or is it now no matter where you are you must bow to the gods and beliefs of others because somehow although you have no connection with them at all you have an obligation, no matter how much they offend you, to worship them as much as their own acolytes do or you will be killed.

Obviously Islamic law has no respect for any other kind of law and feels that it has divine right to stretch across the planet and punish anyone it likes anywhere it likes and to drum up massive numbers of supporters for its cause and use them to march through the streets of the free west at will, unstopped and unchastised by western police. And the offending writers or cartoonists, artists or opposition politicians are dragged through the mud by their own people and placed into the stocks where foreigners can stone them to their hearts' content. That, is what is disgraceful. Our failure to stop our own left wing factions from selling us all down the river to the most extremist factions of fundamentalist Islam. And expecting to be praised for it and no doubt rewarded, by their new masters when prize giving time arrives. What a shock some people have coming to them.

Well that was expected. All the Swedish media have done since those cartoons were published is to point out how racist Denmark is. The next step will probably be to arrest some Swedes.

I was listening to a muslim on svt (Swedish TV) last night, that said that the muslims are so angry they can’t go to work and this is now damaging the economy in third world countries.

I wonder if they will send us the bill for the damage the muslims are causing in their own countries?

They are so angry they can't go to work???????????? That must rank among some of the most ingenious excuses in human history for not showing up.

    Swedish bloggers strike back:

    http://www.spectator.se/stambord/?p=1100

According to Dagens Nyheter, the Swedish security services (Säpo), in collusion with Foreign Minister Leila Freivalds, have forced the website SD-Kuriren offline for publishing the Jyllands-Posten cartoons (SD-Kuriren is the house organ of the hard-right Swedish Democrats).

“We think that this was the best decision after we were contacted by the Foreign Ministry and Säpo,” Anna Larsson, vice president of hosting compant Levonline, told DN. Freivalds told DN that “it is terrible that a small group of extremists are exposing Swedes to danger [by reprinting the cartoons].”

Note: Freedom House’s 2005 survey ranks Sweden 9th in press freedom.
Note to Säpo: This site is hosted in Sweden, on the servers of Loopia AB. You can find their contact information here. The Spectator calls on every Swedish blog—left, right and center—to reprint the Mohammad cartoons in solidarity with SD-Kuriren, however odious we find their political views.

Freedom of the press doesn’t make exceptions for stupidity and provincialism.

Our readers can report us to the police at the following address: sakerhetspolisen@sakerhetspolisen.se
... and then they post the offensive cartoon.
