South Spanish? You are kidding, right?

Regarding complexion, perhaps a bit, though a little too darker; regarding features, I have never seen such thing, unless they were immigrants, of course.

Yes, complexion is the same - med...Skin can be darker or lighter. I really dont think I should provide more pics to prove the evident and obvious thing - Spanish are meds... Obviously, you (Spanish or Portugal) may have people of any kind of racial type, but predominantly - meds...

if you didnt know that it is Penelope Cruz, could you think she is from India? - I wouldn't have any doubts - North Indian. And vice versa, I know many people from India who are mistaken for "latinos"... Other people even start speaking to them in Spanish until they know that they made an ethnic (not racial) mistake...

Another thing is that many Indians have R1a gene, i.e. Aryan gene... So only the very South Dravidians with Negroid features (usually lower cast) are of a different racial type...

Mediterranid is still a very broad term. Anyway, no one was denying that.

I actually read somewhere that blood type B was most common in Northern India. Could this be a trait of Orientalid or Turanid types? I know the Rajputs and Punjabis in Northwest India look very Caucasian. Or would this only be applicable to Northeastern Indians.

I would hardly think that, to be honest. More on the lines of South America.

I suppose you see that in Canada, right? Where South Americans are called «Latinos» or Hispanic... Otherwise, I've never, ever, seen such thing. Believe me, I've been living in this Peninsula all my life, seen quite some Indians and not even one has made its way out to pass unnoticed.

It is true that type B blood can be met in the North-Eastern part of India, however type O still dominates... Also, I mainly looked at higher casts so I can't really speak for all...

And even in higher casts, it is hard to say. For example, people of one of the highest casts - Kayastha cast of West Bengal have mostly blood type B. According to court of Kalkuta, Kayasthas of West Bengal are considered as Brahman and Shudra mix that makes them Shudra... However, in the Northen state of Bihar, the court of Patna investigated the case of Kayasthas and made a desition that they are of Brahman-Kshatriya origin that follows Vedas, thus they are equal to Kshatriyas... In Bihar Kayasthas have mostly blood type O... (Kayasthas are actually the only non-Brahman cast that has such a high level of education. More than 50% of all teachers, clerks, administrators and judges are Kayasthas...)

So, it is quite difficult to say even for one cast in one lil region...
