French America vs British North America

I have had a significant shift in beliefs and now, I believe America is more French than British & Irish with Canada being more British & Irish:

Did not the Americans and French erect their empires at about the same time?

Washington, United States of America and Napoleon I, First French Empire
Davis, Confederate States of America and Napoleon II, Second French Empire

You know, before America was called Virginia it was...Francesca after King Francis I Valois of France!

The arms of imperial France were similar to those of America.

The French fasces is similar to George Washington's axe.

I played Devil's Advocate and based that off of very superficial similarities. I was posting on Stirpes at the time and tried to challenge my understanding beyond preconceived notions.
