    Post Differences between Slavs

    Hello!

I would like some help from members here to point out differences between these three groups of Slavs from Poland, Russia and Czech Republic.

Obviously, we can't make generalisations about whole nations from such small groups, but I believe these guys are a pretty good indication of the looks of young men seen in these three Slavic countries.

    Regards

The Poles seem to be a lot darker than the soccer pictures you posted a while back.

    It's the lighting.

To answer Polak's question; I don't think that a small volleyball team really gives an accurate representation of the common phenotypes in any population; this is especially true in the case of Russia (some of the players, like the darkie in the bottom row aren't even Russian). Now based on extensive anthropometric research, a few things can be said with certainty regarding the aformentioned population.

    1. Poles are very blonde, the blondest Slavs. They are also brachycephalic, and very phenotypically homogenous.

    2. Russians are antrhopometrically average Europeans, except considerably blonder; in other words, if you take anthropometric data for all the nations of Europe, extrapolate a mean, and depigment it significantly, you'll get a Russian.

    3. There are more Nordics in Russia, both per capita, and in absolute terms than in any other Slavic country. In fact, there are probably more Nordics in Russia than anywhere else, save perhaps the US.

    4. Czechs are predominantly Alpine by race, with strong Baltid and Dinaric strains.

Hopefully this will answer your question.

Poles are not very blond. Most Poles have brown hair

    Russians are the blondest Slavs

Czechs are not really alpine. Most Czechs have blue or green eyes, brown eyes are a minority in the Czech Republic. So the Czechs can not be classified as alpines

Real alpine regions are for example France, North-Italy and Hungary. These 3 people are all darker than Czechs

    How do you know?

Czechs are typically Apline. The fact that they have blue eyes, is a non-issue. Alpines can also have blue eyes.

    according to me :

Alpine means : brown hair, brown eyes, medium stature, brachycephalic head

Thats alpine in the strict sense

Blue eyes and green eyes are nordic characteristics

You've been spending too much time at SF. What about the blue eyed Negroes? That a Nordic trait too?

yes, black people with blue eyes (which is very rare) have a nordic characteristic

blond hair, red hair, green eyes, blue eyes = nordic

alpine and mediterranean = dark hair and dark eyes

What you suggest is overly simplistic.
