    Numbers represent thousand of years before present The letters are the haplogroups; Haplogroups can be used to define genetic populations and are often geographically orientated. For example, the following are common divisions for mtDNA haplogroups:
    • Southern European: J, K
    • Northern European: H, T, U, V, X
    • Middle Eastern: J, N
    • African: L, L1, L2, L3, L3*
    • Asian: A, B, C, D, E, F, G (note: M is composed of C, D, E, and G)
    • Native American: A, B, C, D, and sometimes X

    How old are the maps? Do you know it? Because some results might have changed since then - like the question if Europeans came from the East via Central Asia as well, whats quite likely.
