Post Interesting quote about the Dutch

In a multi-cultural society with an colonial history, such as the Dutch one, it is not uncommon to observe a Y-haplotype of African origin combined with an Asian mtDNA-lineage in the same phenotypically white Caucasian male.

I would like to see if this is true, with the help of some detailed studies. If anyone has them, please post a link or two here...

I would question how "common" is defined here.

    I/100 lineages? 1/1000 lineages?

I've *heard* that Dutch traders sometimes brought back Indonesian wives and that these genes were introduced into the population at large. I haven't heard anything about African genes.

Again, gross generalizations without sufficient studies (or studies with a large enough sample group) to back up this claim. It is very easy to "suggest" such admixture genes, but unfortunately these mostly originate from a political agenda. I am not saying there might not be individual cases, but to claim this is all over the country is outrageous and blatant lies.

I agree, but I found this report very interesting because my girlfriend is Dutch. I would like to see more info, but I can't find any.
