    Re: Concentration Camps

Horrible, horrible crime...one that cries out to heaven.

I just want to point out that these crimes were commited without the knowledge of the British people, and the intervention of the British people stopped it.

I'm saying this because I've met numerous english speaking people who feel a sense of responsibility for the above...and all I can say is - let the dead bury their own dead.
Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily.

    AW: Concentration Camps

The memorial for female Afrikaaners in Bloemfontein
The heart-rendering inscription keeps alive the remembrance of one of the most cruel hideous deeds of all times in English history:
26370 Women and children have been killed in the concentration camps.

    Some images of concentration camps

This is what the English propaganda made people believe:

This is what happened in reality:

A British journalist, WT Stead, wrote:
"Every one of these children who died as a result of the halving of their rations, thereby exerting pressure onto their family still on the battle-field, was purposefully murdered. The system of half rations stands exposed and stark and unshamefully as a cold-blooded deed of state policy employed with the purpose of ensuring the surrender of people whom we were not able to defeat on the battlefield."

Emily Hobhouse tells the story of the young Lizzie van Zyl who died in the Bloemfontein concentration camp: "She was a frail, weak little child in desperate need of good care. Yet, because her mother was one of the 'undesirables' due to the fact that her father neither surrendered nor betrayed his people, Lizzie was placed on the lowest rations and so perished with hunger that, after a month in the camp, she was transferred to the new small hospital. Here she was treated harshly. The English disposed doctor and his nurses did not understand her language and, as she could not speak English, labelled her an idiot although she was mentally fit and normal. One day she dejectedly started calling: "Mother! Mother! I want to go to my mother!" One Mrs Botha walked over to her to console her. She was just telling the child that she would soon see her mother again, when she was brusquely interrupted by one of the nurses who told her not to interfere with the child as she was a nuisance." Shortly afterwards, Lizzie van Zyl died.

    British politician Lloyd George, stated:
"The fatality rate of our soldiers on the battlefields, who were exposed to all the risks of war, was 52 per thousand per year, while the fatalities of women and children in the camps were 450 per thousand per year. We have no right to put women and children into such a position."

Helen Harris, who paid a visit to the Potchefstroom concentration camp, stated:
"Imagine a one year old baby who receives no milk; who has to drink water or coffee - there is no doubt that this is the cause of the poor health of the children."

A British physician, Dr Henry Becker, writes:
"First, they chose an ill-suited site for the camp. Then they supplied so little water that the people could neither wash themselves nor their clothes. Furthermore, they made no provision for sufficient waste removal. And lastly, they did not provide enough toilets for the overpopulation they had crammed into the camps."

Affidavit of a concentration camp survivor:
"Often people suffering from a minor ailment were violently removed from the tents of protesting mothers or family members to be taken to hospital. After a few days they were more often than not carried to the grave. Should a child leave the hospital alive, it was simply a miracle."

Holocaust, anyone? The hypocrites who are quick to accuse the Germans of being a savage people should have a look in the mirror first.

German concentration camps: 11 million. (Even after revisionism has got its hands on the total it only goes down to 8 million)

    Is the 'savagery' about numbers,
or the way the prisoners are treated,
or whether the intention is to exterminate them from the start,
not if they die of diseases and other?
The Nazi concentration camps were harsh,
but Germany apologized for its wrongdoing.
Has England (or Britain, whichever is it),
    apologized to the Boers,
    for this part of history?
Has it shown any sign of repentance?

The figures don't go anywhere near 8 million. There are already many sources about this, but if you really want to discuss the figures, you could open a new thread and we can discuss.

    Savages? Who? Us Brits?
Those who orchestrated the extermination of a Germanic people are not only savages, but also traitors to their folk. By the way, the key word was hypocrites. aka playing the moral high ground when people have a dark past themselves.

Firstly BritishWitch here are the statistics from popular culture Wikipedia as you don’t seem too well versed in what you have been told to believe:
    Victim numbers
The number of people killed at the death camps has been estimated as follows:

    Auschwitz-Birkenau: about 1,100,000
    Treblinka: at least 700,000
    Bełżec: about 434,500
    Sobibór: about 167,000
    Chełmno: about 152,000
    Majdanek: 78,000
These numbers total just under 2,700,000 people.

Among the lesser known death camps, estimates vary from 85,000 to 600,000 killed at Jasenovac.[18] At Maly Trostenets extermination camp at least 65,000 Jews were murdered, and estimations for non-Jewish people killed vary from 100,000 to 400,000 (no survivals, including operating personnel, were found).
I would not be surprised if at some point in our lifetime this figure drops even further seeing that Auschwitz alone has dropped from over 6,000,000 initially to 1,100,000 at this point in time, with some circles believing it might drop to under a million.

If you have any evidence to put forward supporting your 8,000,000 or 11,000,000 figure feel free to do so.

You might think that 27,000 woman and children are negligible. The British had 450,000 enlisted men fighting their war against 80,000 Boer men. When the British adopted their Scorched Earth policy they were fighting 20,000 exhausted Boer Guerrillas. When they still failed to make the desired progress they resorted to concentration camps. Cowards!!!
Does 450,000 men against the entire Boer population of 240,000 People (Woman, children and the Elderly included) sound like a fair fight to you? IYO Do these figures justify the use of concentration camps?

What happened to the Boers was terrible, but the entire English people shouldn't be generalised against and called "savages", please. The population was vastly unaware of the horrors in South Africa and I am certain no sane English person advocates genocide.

I wasn't calling all English people savages, I was referring to the hypocrites, aka the liberal politicians and supporting people who point fingers at Germany for WWII, and they go so far to say every German should feel shame and apologize for the Holocaust, who speak about concentration camps and ethnic cleansing as a German invention. The English people who don't support this have my sympathy or I wouldn't be on a Germanic forum. And by the way the WWII Anglo-American politicians knew about the concentration camps in Germany, infact they wrote about them in magazines, and didn't move a finger until Germany surrender. Then they turned into moralizers only after that. But when Hitler was alive they didn't come to confront him.
