    Post UEFA reviews racism abuse

    "Wednesday night's disappointment(read: expectation) of losing 1-0 to Serbia in Belgrade was intensified by a catalogue of abuse directed against Wales' black players. The racist jibes from the Serbian supporters began in the Under-21 game the previous evening, where goalkeeper Jason Brown was subjected to monkey noises in the 3-0 defeat in Novi Sad. Then Danny Gabbidon, Nathan Blake and Robert Earnshaw all suffered similar attacks in the senior international at the Zvezda Stadium.

    The Football Association of Wales made an official complaint to European football's governing body, demanding that action be taken. FAW secretary general David Collins had already relayed Wales' anger at the way their players were treated to match delegates Jean-Pierre Escalettes (France) and Franz Wohrer (Austria). Uefa examined reports from the referee, Anders Frisk, and its own match observers before announcing on Friday that the allegations will be dealt with at its next disciplinary committee hearing on 11 September. Gabbidon had an outstanding game despite the abuse and his display in partnership with Robert Page underlined Wales' battling, brave performance in the Group Nine qualifier.
    "What happened out there and what Danny had to endure just shows what a fine performance he put in," Hughes said. "We had a problem the previous night in the Under-21 game and it is just not right. The wheels are already in motion to make a complaint to Uefa. "It's always disappointing when you hear it and it needs to be stamped out." Gabbidon's Cardiff team-mate Earnshaw, who nearly grabbed a dramatic equaliser but for a superb interception from Mladen Krstajic, was disgusted by the treatment of Wales' black players. "I heard it. Everytime Danny, Blakey or myself got the ball we heard it and it's just not acceptable in football.

    "I was expecting it in a way, because you hear from other players how bad it is over this side of the world, but I was a little bit surprised how bad it was during the game."

    I've said it before and I'll repeat it here: Eastern Europe has a far healthier racial instinct than Western Europe or Canada/US and Australia. If a European Renaissance is to occur, it will begin in Eastern Europe.

    And what is it with this "stamp out racism" catchphrase everyone uses? It's got to be the most inane, clichéd anti-racialist jibe yet. Well, maybe "stop the hate" is still #1 in that regard.

    That may be.
    Unfortunately Serbia is not eastern Europe.
    And all my youth passed by sad-hearted,
    the joy of Spring was never mine;
    Autumn blows through me dread of parting,
    and my heart dreams and longs to die.

    Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind.

    You both are right.To some it's considered Eastern Europe, to others south central Europe or southeast Europe.

    Anyway, would have The Welsh players complained about this if they had won? Probably not.

    According to all geopolitical, political and culture zonal theories Serbia is not a part of Eastern Europe.
