Even though my husband is my soulmate, we did not fall in love with each other "at first sight". I liked him right away though, and I was pretty impressed by his knowledge of certain things. It took me a few months though before I could safely call it love. We met over the internet though. So that might have an influence over things. My real life relationships were always superficial, based pretty much exclusively on looks. Because of my good looks, I relatively only attracted lusty men. Over the internet you can get to know a person first based on intelligence and personality which are some of the key factors in finding someone you can spend your life with. It's much better I think.

No; this is based on my own experience. How people interpret something like this is up to them, though.

[My own experience is highly limited in this area of life anyway, so whatever I say has no value.]

    I believe in this.

    I agree.

Well, to be honest: I'm not sure, I truly want to believe in it... But sometimes it can feel as if it is only in Hollywood movies it happen.

    Absolutely.
It happened to me when I was 19, and had never happened before and has never happened since.

Probably the best few months of my adult life, we were both students at University, studying the same course. We were friends for about 7 months (though I adored her secretly!), and finally, mutual love blossomed over the test tube racks and Photospectrometers...

It ended when she returned home (a long way away), but it was such a positive experience, I'm forever grateful to her. :peck:

I do not. If I had not given my husband a chance, we would have never gotten together. I was not attracted to him physically, but he was intelligent and interested me, but no "sparks" flew.

I never felt like that w/any of the other men I dated either :ugh

But, for those lucky ones who did, that is great! More power to you

I'd say "infatuation" or "lust" at first sight is a more accurate description of the issue at hand.
I believe that religion, generally speaking, has been a curse to mankind - that its modest and greatly overestimated services on the ethical side have been more than overcome by the damage it has done to clear and honest thinking.

...that no discovery of fact, however trivial, can be wholly useless to the race, and that no trumpeting of falsehood, however virtuous in intent, can be anything but vicious.

...that all government is evil, in that all government must necessarily make war upon liberty...

...that the evidence for immortality is no better than the evidence of witches, and deserves no more respect.

...in the complete freedom of thought and speech...

...in the capacity of man to conquer his world, and to find out what it is made of, and how it is run.

    ...in the reality of progress.

I - But the whole thing, after all, may be put very simply. I believe that it is better to tell the truth than to lie...to be free than to be a slave...to know than be ignorant.
